Historia
Following the destruction of the City of Mercy, an ancient god has been resurrected and sealed inside Beru's body. Both are at the mercy of the Prophet Pallas, who wields the god’s powers to subjugate the Six Prophetic Cities. But every day, the god grows stronger, threatening to break free and sow untold destruction. Meanwhile, far away from Pallas Athos, Anton learns to harness his full powers as a prophet. Armed with the truth about how the original prophets killed the god, Anton leads Jude, Hassan, and Ephyra on a desperate quest to the edge of the world.

I have really enjoyed all three books in this series and have listened to them on audible. This last book has some audio issues. At times the volume in dialogue changes. One speaker is barely audible but the other is at the correct volume. Can still hear but don’t turn up the volume or your blast the other speaker.

Historia
Imagine being a 13-year-old girl in love with boys, school, family - life itself. Then suddenly, in a matter of hours, your life is shattered by the arrival of a foreign army. This is the memoir of Elli Friedmann, who was 13 years old in March 1944, when the Nazis invaded Hungary. It describes her descent into the hell of Auschwitz, a concentration camp where, because of her golden braids, she was selected for work instead of extermination. In intimate, excruciating details she recounts what it was like.

The story is one all should know. I can’t say enough positive about the story and author’s bravery in telling. My only negative is the performance. The reader is a fine performer but given a lot of the narrative is a 13 year old girl saying “mommy”, I would prefer a younger voice.

Historia
Since she was nine years old, Alina Dziak knew she would marry her best friend, Tomasz. Now 15 and engaged, Alina is unconcerned by reports of Nazi soldiers at the Polish border, believing her neighbors that they pose no real threat, and dreams instead of the day Tomasz returns from college in Warsaw so they can be married. But little by little, injustice by brutal injustice, the Nazi occupation takes hold, and Alina’s tiny rural village, its families, are divided by fear and hate. Then, as the fabric of their lives is slowly picked apart, Tomasz disappears.

Best book I’ve heard in forever

By far the best! If you are a mom, a grand daughter, or anyone with compassion you’ll love this book. It also touched my soul as a special educator. ❤️❤️
