Historia
Donald Trump v. The United States tells the dramatic story of those who felt compelled to confront and try to contain the most powerful man in the world as he shredded norms and sought to expand his power. Michael S. Schmidt takes listeners inside the defining events of the presidency, chronicles them up close, and records the clash between an increasingly emboldened president and those around him, who find themselves trying to thwart the president they had pledged to serve, unsure whether he is acting in the interest of the country, his ego, his family business, or Russia.

The narration is great to me

I love it when an author reads their own work but because they aren’t performers can sound bad but this author sounds good to me. Just wanted to balance out some negative comments about it. Great info. I learned new things!

For those of you unhappy with the narration,...
Revisado: 03-04-21
Some found the narration whisper like and slow. I did as well, so I turned the speed of the narration up, and it solved the problem! I enjoyed the words AND THE VOICE... So please try that before returning the book. Lots of good information inside. In deep respect for your path. Bless your journey.

Making a statement like “for the best productivity you need to have positive thoughts “. And then he rambles on for several minutes saying the very same thing, several times with the words in different order! An author who wants a lot of words on the page isn’t always going to give quality with his quantity. This book is a perfect example of that.

Historia
Al Franken, Giant of the Senate is a book about an unlikely campaign that had an even more improbable ending: the closest outcome in history and an unprecedented eight-month recount saga, which is pretty funny in retrospect. It's a book about what happens when the nation's foremost progressive satirist gets a chance to serve in the United States Senate and, defying the low expectations of the pundit class, actually turns out to be good at it.

Historia
What do the lives of Lincoln, Helen Keller, Joan of Arc, and other historical figures have in common with Paula Poundstone? In the hands of this wryly observant and self-deprecating comedian, the answer is outrageously funny and unexpectedly touching. Poundstone compares her crazy life to theirs, as she holds forth on her children, her career, and the time in her life when it appeared she would lose them both.

Most people think success comes from good luck or enormous talent, but many successful people achieve their accomplishments in a simpler way: through self-discipline. Brian Tracy knows this firsthand. He didn’t graduate from high school, and after working for a few years as a laborer, he realized he had limited skills and a limited future. But through the power of self-discipline, he changed his life.

What did you love best about No Excuses!?
I didn't love this book but I do enjoy Brian Tracy. His narration is without any passion. It sounds like he has said these same pointers over and over for so long that even he is board with it all. I didn't learn anything new but that is because I have been a student of self help all my life. This is a good listen for younger people just trying to get their independent footing.
