Loved everything about this book! The honesty! The grit! The emotions! And of'course the comedy! This is how a book should be read! I felt like I was sitting down with a new friend and I asked, "Do you mind telling me about your life?" She responds with, " Girl, how much time do you have?" Ha, Ha, Ha...Brilliant is what Leslie Jones is! Brilliant. I tell ya! I am definitely inspired and a fan!

The Black Voice

This is an excellent example of shedding light on a problem that continues to plague black people that go as far back as slavery days. The voice of black people has been disregarded, dismissed and muted. We have to let our voice be heard. Our black people missing and/or murdered matters! We can no longer hide in the back shaking in fear. If we don't speak for ourselves...who will? My hats off to all those involved in the telling of this story. The black voice can make changes that will inspire a movement to put laws in effect to protect the rights of black people. And like Mrs. Till said what happens to one of us had better be the business of all of us! Bravo to those of us who advocates for all of us! Bravo!!

A Great Suspense Story

I was a little skeptical after I read a review of how the storyline jumps from the main character past events to current events, which can be confusing, especially if you're doing other things while listening to this book. I just made a point to distinguish the differing time lines as I was listening. Bravo author! I absolutely loved this book and the narrator! Just when you think you know the reason behind the suspense, you find out later you were wrong! So even though the differing time line can be a bit confusing, it is necessary. Keep listening!

Another Great Book

I absolutely loved the book! You know a book is good when you find yourself wondering will happen next with each character. The only reason I gave rhe performance 3 stars was because there was too much of a lag between some of the chapters producing a dead silence. Overall the book was excellent in developing each character and giving the reader a sense of knowing who they were. I loved the mystery of it all, which kept my ears perked and ready to hear more!
