Historia
All children misbehave for a variety of reasons, sometimes simply to test how far they can go or to get the attention they crave. Other children are more difficult to parent than others because they are impulsive, hyperactive, inattentive, or delayed in some aspect of their development. This invaluable handbook provides parents with guidelines to help prevent behavior problems from occurring; and also with strategies to promote children's social, emotional, and academic competence.

Very inspiring book! Great read for parents of kids with LDs and/or ADHD.
Revisado: 11-21-16
The author presents the story of "eye to eye": program to connect colleague students who have ADHD and / or LDs to school age children who have similar learning differences. It is an amazing story of children lives can be changed by advocacy and by supporting children to develop their strengths. The audio book was perfectly recommended, and does present well the emotion of the book.
Worth reading too "The Dyslexic Advantage" and "No Greatness Without Goodness"; both available as audiobooks and printed books.

Excellent book! Enthusiastic and authentic narration!
Revisado: 07-10-16
Dr. Aziz did a phenomenal job presenting proven methods to overcome shyness / social anxiety disorder (social phobia). Given his personal history of he having overcome social phobia, his account is very authentic. The book being read by the author makes it even more impacful. This is a great book for shy women and shy men, and is also an excellent resource for counselors to recommend to their patients, as part of bibliotherapy for shyness. Worth checking also the classic "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie and "Painfully Shy" by Barbara Markway.
Thanks Dr. Aziz!

Historia
Going against the conventional wisdom reinforced by the medical establishment and Big Pharma that more screening is the best preventative medicine, Dr. Gilbert Welch builds a compelling counterargument that what we need are fewer, not more, diagnoses. Documenting the excesses of American medical practice that labels far too many of us as sick, Welch examines the social, ethical, and economic ramifications of a health-care system that unnecessarily diagnoses and treats patients.

Outstanding!
Revisado: 08-14-15
A must read for every physician.
The author brilliantly defends a paradigm shift in health care.
A must read also for health care consumers who wants to become better informed in their interactions with the health care system; especially when facing the question of doing or not tests for the early detection of diseases. Early detection has bigger risks than most of us think.
