Historia
In Daretana’s greatest mansion, a high imperial officer lies dead—killed, to all appearances, when a tree erupted from his body. Even here at the Empire’s borders, where contagions abound and the blood of the leviathans works strange magical changes, it’s a death both terrifying and impossible. Assigned to investigate is Ana Dolabra, a detective whose reputation for brilliance is matched only by her eccentricities. Rumor has it that she wears a blindfold at all times, and that she can solve impossible cases without even stepping outside the walls of her home.

Repeats itself
Revisado: 07-17-16
Constantly has to analyze every action with overly simplistic emotions. The same conclusions every time.
I am not going to finish this series because if I hear one more repetition of their oh so pure ideals against the overly simplistic evil I will end up ripping my ears off my head.

Terrible ending, if you can call it that
Revisado: 07-10-15
The story abruptly ends with no real resolution. The ending is unfulfilling and incomplete.
Also, After reading through 10 books of an undefined magic system that seemed to be anything the author wanted at the moment, I was hoping for some explanation in the end that tried to clear things up.

Fantastic to terrible in 3 books
Revisado: 04-20-14
What disappointed you about Mockingjay?
Hunger games was fantastic. 2nd book forced the same story as a repeat. Mocking jay forced even harder to shove that same story into the 3rd book.
Any additional comments?
kinda handy the capitol city is already built into a hunger games 3 arena. (eyes rolling)

Battle, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat...
Revisado: 04-19-14
Would you try another book from Evan Currie and/or Benjamin L. Darcie?
Maybe. He can write well. I enjoyed his book one "Into the Black". Problem with this book is the repetitiveness of one battle after the next that doesn't really add plot in my opinion.
The book even went into depth of training for a battle. The plot that existed was good, but there was very little of it between the constant battles.
What do you think your next listen will be?
The Black Prism by brent weeks. My favorite categories are sci-fi and fantasy. Moving on to this because I LOVED the night angel series so I am going to try his lightbringer series.
What does Benjamin L. Darcie bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He is a decent narrator. I would say I liked his narration. He didn't distract from the story. I have 150 audible books so I have been through narrators I liked more and less. Benjamin held is own quite nicely though. I would listen to him again.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
when it actually had plot, the plot was very good. I will keep it vague so I don't give away spoilers, but I liked the details about central. Also the ending had some nice information revealed.

Terrible audio book. I do not blame the author.
Revisado: 04-19-14
What disappointed you about Revelation Space?
The editor and the narrator were HORRIBLE. I have heard this is a really good book but I will never be able to finish because of this crappy performance.
There is absolutely no indication that the narration has moved from one character story arc to another. It is very confusing. At one moment you are following along, the next you have no clue what is going on. Then you realize you have moved to a separate story arch. There isn't even a pause in the narration. You could believe they are in the same sentence when they have crossed chapters.
Unfortunately due to eye issues I won't be able to read this book. I have heard it is a good book from people who have read it.
Has Revelation Space turned you off from other books in this genre?
I LOVE this genre
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of John Lee?
ANYONE. He is the only narrator that I refuse to listen to again. (I have 150 audible books and maybe 50 more audio books not through audible). He ruined A Feast of Crows by George R R Martin so bad they sent it back and had Roy Dotrice re-narrate it. Unfortunately I listened to the John Lee version. At least I can go back and listen to the remake with Roy Dotrice who is an excellent narrator.

Revisado: 04-19-14
Would you listen to Nine Princes in Amber again? Why?
Yes, I really liked the book a lot. I would like to finish the series; however, there are a lot of short books. When you have to buy 10 short books for the full price of 10 books the price is bad.
Great book, but for my book dollar I will move somewhere else.
