We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

It’s probably just my snarky sense of humor, but Columbus Day... had me laughing out loud at several of the whitty exchanges between Joe & Skippy. The story had plenty of shortcomings on the science/physics nerd end as well as the all to cliche “omnipresent AI that can DO EVERYTHING”. But damn Skippy and Joe made me laugh.... well done.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Infected?
Cutting off the twigs and berries... Ouch...
How did the narrator detract from the book?
His voices for multiple characters was terrible. Please pay a professional narrator next time...

Enjoyed the story. All though it took most of the 1st half to get used to the author's voices. He did better then I could have at giving the multiple character's different voices. But that is not saying much. Please pay a professional voiceover reader to do the next one....

Aside from the portrayal of female soldiers as sorority sisters with guns it was ok. Way to rigid on the dialog. But a fun story and a few nice turns.
