I found myself really loving a good bit of it, from the natural stubbornness and playfulness of the characters, to all the dogs in the book. I recommend it for a relaxed and casual listen

I really enjoyed this, I found myself fawning about it to my friend. I expected some things, but others absolutely took me by surprise and I absolutely enjoyed every twist and turn and parts kept me on the edge of my seat.

I enjoy most Titanic themed stories, they can always have some nice tale to it, this one is no exception. I am a bit put off by some of the character in this one and why things were done as they were... Also, I wasn't as big a fan of the change in Narrator. I have no doubts that Tara Sands is amazing, just this time it fell very flat in the variety of voices.
If there is a third book I will still buy it and listen.

What made the experience of listening to Caraval the most enjoyable?

The Narrator Rebecca Soler really changed the tone of everything and made it much better.

If you’ve listened to books by Stephanie Garber before, how does this one compare?

I haven't. This one was alright. I enjoyed it for the most part.

What does Rebecca Soler bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Soler brought the book to life. If I read this on my own, I would have stopped at chapter 3.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It wasn't a book I couldn't walk away from. It was good, but I could set it down and go to another one.

Any additional comments?

I will start by saying, despite all the flaws, I enjoyed this book, as did my friend. There is one thing I have to say was, it was an overly sensory detailed adventure. Not everything needed a color, taste, and smell. It grew grating after a while.

One thing that drove me up a wall, "Tella!" both the characterization of the character and the constant crying out of her name. If the author had toned down on those two things, it could have been amazing.

I'm trying to do this with a few spoilers as possible, but Scarlett is a very insecure girl with her younger sister, Donnatella "Tella" who is her exact opposite. This is something that will be extremely apparent in the first couple chaptered in a very heavy handed way. If I hadn't been listening to it, I would have put my book down.

The overall story, was alright. Made no sense in places when it came to what the end goal was, but I guess to the author it did. Give it a chance, read other review, so on, so on.

In the end, I liked it despite everything that annoyed me, but I can't have the actual book. I would never be able to read it because of the flaws.
