Historia
For 12-year-old Emily, the best thing about moving to San Francisco is that it's the home city of her literary idol: Garrison Griswold, book publisher and creator of the online sensation Book Scavenger (a game where books are hidden in cities all over the country and clues to find them are revealed through puzzles). Upon her arrival, however, Emily learns that Griswold has been attacked and is now in a coma, and no one knows anything about the epic new game he had been poised to launch.

I stumbled on the series and liked the plot but what kept me coming back was the reading performance. I always buy the next one through kindle but wait to start until audible has it too. excellent.

a wonderful YA surprise!
Revisado: 01-14-16
Loved the narrator, the plot had great twists but moved at a solid pace. Great historical bits and a solid heroine. My favorite character was Uncle Tully who with which this book would have had no purpose. He was written with great thought and tenderness and I will be hearing bits of his dialogue in my head for a very long time.

great heroine, fabulous narrator, solid story

I read constantly to know what's out there for my students. Reluctant readers will love the fast pace and plot twists. The characters were delightful and I did appreciate that her parents weren't near as uncaring as originally portrayed.

frustrating narration
Revisado: 03-04-13
What did you like best about Beautiful Creatures? What did you like least?
The story was good for YA fiction. Kevin did a nice job and hearing a male voice gave a different feel. The biggest problem was that I couldn't hear the dream scenes which were vital to the story. I actually had to buy the paperback and read those parts to understand what was being missed. I tried on both apple and android tablets, a phone and a PC computer. I work with dyslexic students who need the audible to boost comprehension. Unless this can be remedied - I will steer them to other series
What other book might you compare Beautiful Creatures to and why?
Twilight...similiar "magical race among us...love between the races...imposiible solutions...
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Kevin T. Collins?
He did well - no change
Was Beautiful Creatures worth the listening time?
for the most part - I sped up the narrator.
