Intriguing mystery
Revisado: 06-19-24
Mysteries being solved by a paraplegic and a woman with early-onset arthritis, both of whom want nothing to do with it. It keeps you on your toes through gruesome crime scenes and mental games. I’m not fond of the narrator, but the story is absolutely worth it.

Historia
Tamsyn Muir’s Gideon the Ninth unveils a solar system of swordplay, cut-throat politics, and lesbian necromancers. Her characters leap out of the audio, as skillfully animated as arcane revenants. The result is a heart-pounding epic science fantasy. Brought up by unfriendly, ossifying nuns, ancient retainers, and countless skeletons, Gideon is ready to abandon a life of servitude and an afterlife as a reanimated corpse.

Aza's singing is the fairest in all the land - and the most unusual. She can "throw" her voice so it seems to come from anywhere. But singing is only one of the two qualities prized in the Kingdom of Ayortha. Aza doesn't possess the other: beauty. Not even close. She's hidden in the shadows in her parents' inn, but when she becomes lady-in-waiting to the new queen, she has to step into the light - especially when the queen demands a dangerous favor.

Enchanting and poignant
Revisado: 05-14-24
I’ve read this book before, and now I’ve listened to it. I fell in love all over again! Gail Carson Levine crafts her characters with love, with flaws, with spirit and personality. This book reminds me of the saying, “Beauty is only skin deep.” Aza is a wonderful character who grows in mind, and learns to accept her own form of beauty.

This latest book in the series is heart wrenching and lovely. As always, the musical accompaniment is beautiful. Jai remains my favorite character. Jai, Darby, and Amelia all experience a lot of personal growth in this story. Seeing young Mozart was also lots of fun!

I love the story, and Ozzy and Iggy’s relationship. Rin makes me so frustrated I want to scream, but that’s the way it’s supposed to be. I enjoyed catching glimpses here and there of how he works.

Revisado: 01-21-24
This is my favorite of the series. Seeing the characters grow and develop so much has been phenomenal. Lucy and Lockwood’s relationship, of course, but also the growing friendship with Quill Kipps. It ends perfectly, but I still wish I could read more!
