Historia
Alex Carlisle owes a debt beyond cash. Once upon a time - all of three months ago - Alex found himself in a foreign land hunted by mercenaries and demon lords. Only the intervention of a sultry, playful jinn got him home again. Zafirah didn't help him for free. Now she's come to collect. With her sights set on a dangerous family of ancient sorcerers, Zafirah needs every edge. She needs not only Alex, but the friends and lovers he brings with him. Her quest threatens to extract a price from angel, demon, and mortal alike...and most especially the witch who brought them all together.

Mr. Kay you did not disappoint!
Revisado: 06-08-20
This was a treat to read. I love the direction you’ve taken with the characters and the storyline and the politics!! Lorelei’s entrance to the party was awesome. There are new characters to discover and Tess Irondale did an incredible job giving voice to them. I look forward to more.

Historia
Our universe is ruled by physics, and faster-than-light travel is not possible - until the discovery of The Flow, an extradimensional field we can access at certain points in space-time that transports us to other worlds, around other stars. Humanity flows away from Earth, into space, and in time forgets our home world and creates a new empire, the Interdependency, whose ethos requires that no one human outpost can survive without the others. It's a hedge against interstellar war - and a system of control for the rulers of the empire.

This was a FUN listen
Revisado: 03-25-17
What made the experience of listening to The Collapsing Empire the most enjoyable?
The story is wonderful, I couldn't help but be invested in the characters. It reminded me how completely sucked in you can get within a sci-fi narrative. John Scalzi created a great world for the listener to enjoy.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Collapsing Empire?
This first book (it's a series!!) is laying out a very promising arc. Kiva, a wonderfully profane personality is awesome and I am so looking forward to her cosmic ass-kicking as the story progresses.
What about Wil Wheaton’s performance did you like?
Wil Wheaton did a fantastic performance. You could hear how much he enjoyed telling the story. Mr. Scalzi provided the wonderful words and Wil did them justice.
Any additional comments?
If there's one thing I hate is waiting for the next book but then again, the anticipation, the crush you get from a new storyline, that's part of the fun. Thank you John Scalzi and Wil Wheaton. This is FUN!!
