Historia
Evan Smoak doesn’t have many friends. Goes with the territory for a former off-the-books government assassin. He certainly can’t afford to fall out with the best of them. But Tommy Stojack, a gifted quartermaster whom Evan trusts and relies on, has crossed a line. And when Evan tries to confront him, instead of robust conversation, he comes under attack. Now it’s war. Tommy’s got other things on his mind, though. He promised a dying comrade that he’d be there for the man’s son, and now the boy’s got himself into a world of trouble.

Too much psychodrama
Revisado: 03-29-25
It had potential but bogged down by too many flashbacks and an overabundance of soul-searching and internal torment. While the core story was intriguing, the constant dips into the protagonist’s past and inner struggles disrupted the pacing and made it hard to stay engaged. there’s a good thriller in there, but it gets lost in its own introspection

Can’t stand the first person talking style
Revisado: 03-02-20
Story was so-so, too much touchy-feely emotional grey man.
Don’t really want to hear what’s in The grey man’s tormented soul :-)

Historia
The Talmud says: “If someone comes to kill you, rise up and kill him first.” This instinct to take every measure, even the most aggressive, to defend the Jewish people is hardwired into Israel’s DNA. From the very beginning of its statehood in 1948, protecting the nation from harm has been the responsibility of its intelligence community and armed services, and there is one weapon in their vast arsenal that they have relied upon to thwart the most serious threats: Targeted assassinations have been used countless times, on enemies large and small....

Very interesting, but the narrator?!
Revisado: 08-27-18
He butchered every single name. Ronen should have sat with him and listen before releasing the book.

Nothing new... more of the same
Revisado: 10-01-17
The Skippy-Joe dialogues are getting old and so is the whole "hmmm I just got an idea skippy didn't have". It's been used and abused :-)
