"Wife/Mother" of the Sword....
Revisado: 05-23-24
if woman's suffrage and the patriarchy is your thing and you are hungry for a story about how a mother and wife deals with a horrible husband and talented kids set in a traditional feudal Japan (but also in the future) then this book is for you. a complete struggle to get through. voice acting was good though.

Harmony ruined it
Revisado: 10-23-23
The voice actor is why I started and continued the series. interesting and unusual uses of magic. Use of politics was ok but leaves much to be desired. The character Harmony ruins the series. Her actions are almost always contrary to her back story and is generally insufferable. She and her antics only grow in annoyance over time.

A truly epic fantasy & marvelous performance!
Revisado: 05-04-20
A titan of a narrator matched with a ridiculously talented writer.
If your looking for a short, predictable, shallow, cookie cutter and spoon fed story then this is not the book for you.
The story has a range of characters that are driven to across each other's path as they fight for their survival and uphold their duties. The game they unwittingly get forced into playing turns out to be against powers far greater and for much more than they could have ever imagined.

Historia
Tyrant magus Edrin Walker destroyed the monster sent by the Skallgrim, but not before it laid waste to Setharis, and infested their magical elite with mind-controlling parasites. Edrin's own Gift to seize the minds of others was cracked by the strain of battle, and he barely survives the interrogation of a captured magus. There's no time for recovery though: a Skallgrim army is marching on the mountain passes of the Clanhold. Edrin and a coterie of villains race to stop them, but the mountains are filled with gods, daemons, magic, and his hideous past.

a worthy fantasy
Revisado: 06-18-19
A decent follow up to the first book although corny and superfluous at parts. It could use a little less drama surrounding the battles and love story but overall a excellent fable. Would easily make a nomination for a Hugo award except that has turned into a giant pile of political garbage despite the previous titian's that were awarded it.
