Historia
Dragons, catgirls, guns, and magic—oh, and the ability to stop time. What more could a modern gal want? Well... If my past would stay locked in a dark corner back on Earth, that'd be nice. Right, there was that one other thing: finding a way home before the world ends. But hey, that's what my mom would call the last step in your five-year plan. The first? Play with magic.

Three quarters set up
Revisado: 07-05-24
It is entirely possible this is a good series. Listening to book one is not the way to find that out. Andrea Emmes does a good job but there is only about three hours of plot in this book. The rest is explaining the system and increasing stats. I’m going to give book two a shot and see if that changes.

Historia
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

Not for me
Revisado: 06-05-24
I tried twice to get through this one. I gave it five hours both times. It being an Audiobook I don't have much to say about the story yet, especially for how big this one apparently is. The setup was ok for a LitRPG. The system mentioned has me curious how it works.
A combination of the narration and writing style is ultimately what led to me dropping this one. Anytime someone talks the narrator will say "he said", "she said" etc. Its probably something thats easy to ignore when reading the book yourself but it quickly annoyed me on the audio. The narrators attempts at different characters voices is the other thing that took me off of this on. They all sound almost exactly the same to me. When listening to this audiobook I can not tell who is supposed to be talking until the "he said" "she said" thing previously mentioned. This, combined with a lot of unnatural pauses make this one of my most disliked audiobooks i have. It boggles my mind that this book is rated as highly as it is.
