Historia
Though there are many factors behind such success, including luck and the contributions of his creative partner Marshall Herskovitz, he’s known to have a special talent for bringing out the best in the people he’s worked with, notably the actors. In those intense collaborations, he seeks to discover the small pieces of connective tissue, vulnerability, and fellowship that can help an actor realize their character in full.

A sharp, fascinating, recounting of Ed Zwick’s career making movies and TV. There are joyful moments and brutal moments here. It’s always fun to read.

Historia
“Long live the King” hailed Entertainment Weekly upon publication of Stephen King’s On Writing. Part memoir, part master class by one of the bestselling authors of all time, this superb volume is a revealing and practical view of the writer’s craft, comprising the basic tools of the trade every writer must have. King’s advice is grounded in his vivid memories from childhood through his emergence as a writer, from his struggling early career to his widely reported, near-fatal accident in 1999—and how the inextricable link between writing and living spurred his recovery.

Inspiring, practical, moving and fun!
Revisado: 09-13-16
My mother is a rabid Stephen King fan and introduced me to his work when I was much younger. I like his writing quite a bit, though I'm not much for horror.
This book is excellent: insightful and entertaining. I'm a playwright and TV writer and I think a bunch of what he says applies to me. His narration is pretty damn good, too. I fully enjoyed this!

Historia
Supermarket produce sections bulging with a year-round supply of perfectly round, bright red-orange tomatoes have become all but a national birthright. But in Tomatoland, which is based on his James Beard Award-winning article, The Price of Tomatoes, investigative food journalist Barry Estabrook reveals the huge human and environmental cost of the $5 billion fresh tomato industry. Fields are sprayed with more than one hundred different herbicides and pesticides. Tomatoes are picked hard and green and artificially gassed until their skins acquire a marketable hue.

Terrific. Challenging. Eye opening.
Revisado: 05-28-16
I had no idea the complexity of this subject. This book covers abused farm workers, labor struggles, artisanal tomato growers, government regulations and the search for a good tasting tomato with equal detail. It's all fascinating and has me curious about where my food comes from and the impact of how it's harvested. Such a joy to listen to this book.

Revisado: 02-21-16
I'm a long time lover of Grey's Anatomy. Now I feel the same about Shonda Rhimes. This is an uplifting, insightful, honest story about a woman brave enough to orchestrate a personal makeover. So much fun. So much. Yes!
