Historia
Meredith and Nina Whitson are as different as sisters can be. One stayed at home to raise her children and manage the family apple orchard; the other followed a dream and traveled the world to become a famous photojournalist. But when their beloved father falls ill, Meredith and Nina find themselves together again, standing alongside their cold, disapproving mother, Anya, who even now, offers no comfort to her daughters.

Disappointing book
Revisado: 01-17-24
The story was long and drug on. It was more about the characters than what it was like in the house of Mercy. The narrator for Effie was overly dramatic

Weak story and annoying narrator
Revisado: 06-17-23
The cadence of the narrator’s voice was annoying and so hard to listen to. The story was weak and the characters were shallow. I love murder mysteries and really wanted to like this book, but just couldn’t

Historia
Olivia McAfee knows what it feels like to start over. Her picture-perfect life—living in Boston, married to a brilliant cardiothoracic surgeon, raising their beautiful son, Asher—was upended when her husband revealed a darker side. She never imagined that she would end up back in her sleepy New Hampshire hometown, living in the house she grew up in and taking over her father’s beekeeping business. Lily Campanello is familiar with do-overs, too. When she and her mom relocate to Adams, New Hampshire, for her final year of high school, they both hope it will be a fresh start.

Everyone should read this book
Revisado: 04-04-21
This is an incredibly moving and powerful series of short stories from the men and women who defend our country. It is a window into both the physical and emotional wounds. My only comment is that the narrator’s voice didn’t match the emotion of the situations being described. I am a former Army officer that worked in the medical field and was incredibly moved by this book
