Historia
Forty thousand years ago, humanity fled a dying Earth. Traveling in massive arkships, these brave pioneers spread out across the galaxy to find a new home. After traveling thousands of light-years, one fleet of arkships arrived at Centauri, a dense cluster of stars with a vast array of potentially habitable planets. The survivors of Earth signaled to the remaining arkships that humanity had finally found its new home among the stars.

An Epic Story-Another Epic World
Revisado: 03-29-25
This is a Peter F Hamilton Science Fiction novel at its finest. I love the descriptions and action packed plot that just keeps me on my toes. I actually thought this novel being less Rated R than his other books added a lot, but of course there’s some tension, and that’s great. Keep up the fantastic work! Choosing to take on this universe was a really good idea!

Historia
The year is 2380. The Intersolar Commonwealth, a sphere of stars some 400 light-years in diameter, contains more than 600 worlds, interconnected by a web of transport "tunnels" known as wormholes. At the farthest edge of the Commonwealth, astronomer Dudley Bose observes the impossible: Over 1,000 light-years away, a star...vanishes. It does not go supernova. It does not collapse into a black hole. It simply disappears.

Personal Favorite Science Fiction
Revisado: 05-03-23
I really enjoy the Commonwealth novels, starting here. It’s very in depths, and Peter’s ability to create flawed, interesting, and believable characters is very interesting to read. There is a great contrast between A plot and B plot with Ozzie that just keeps me compelled, then where it ends is a great setup for the next novel. The world is on a whole new level- I love how naturally the world melds into itself, the society, and the natural wonders spotted throughout the book.
Then there is the narrator. I really enjoy John Lee’s work and this one is a keeper.
I look forward to my third reread!

Captivating and Enjoyable
Revisado: 01-04-18
Would you consider the audio edition of A Warrior's Penance to be better than the print version?
Nick Podehl's imitations and acts were very enjoyable to listen to that complimented amazing characters and a great story.
Who was your favorite character and why?
My favorite character is Jemesh who is an interesting, funny, and thoughtful character who always lightened the mood, even in the darkest moments. His love interests make it interesting that helped move the story along.
What about Nick Podehl’s performance did you like?
Nick Podehl's imitations of the characters were a joy to listen to. He portrayed feeling, love, and hurt that drove the novels the way they were meant to be felt.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I certainly had moments where i had to laugh. The whole series was a roller coaster of ups and downs which made it enjoyable to listen to.
Any additional comments?
Overall I loved this book and the series that it concluded. The characters and story melded together in a dance that spun me around for hours. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a great narrative read by an amazing act.
