I have listened to every Box book with my favorites being Joe Pickett series. This book had no point, no connection and no substance. Made zero sense at all! Box failed to build the characters and drifted in and out of the story line. I’m afraid Box is too “into” his Big Sky TV series and not putting sufficient time into the books. Truly disappointing

A movement away from his normal legal thrillers, I think this might be the best of Grisham. I literally could not put it down. Just when you think the story is predictable, it takes an unbelievable turn that sealed it as my favorite Grisham work. Sooley is magnificent

Get away from the Cassie books. Boring

Love CJ Box books. Automatically purchased this without reading boo details. Cassie has no excitement. You reverted back to putting Lizard King teasers which just took away even more from the book. Narrator too dramatic and just not very good. Give us another Joe Pickett and let Cassie Rest In Peace. I returned the book. It was just bad.
