Historia
Commitment, loyalty, and strength aren't enough to make Wesley Stone's birth pack accept an Alpha with a physical imperfection, even if it's a meaningless mark. Putting the safety of his pack above his own wellbeing, Wesley trades himself for another Alpha and agrees to mate with a stranger in a mysterious, insular pack. Alphas from Jobe Root's family have led the Red River pack from the first day shifters walked the earth. Now the time has come for Jobe to fulfill his destiny, but to do that, he needs his mate by his side.

cute short
Revisado: 03-06-20
enjoyed this short story. loved that there was a happy ending and both characters got what they desired. I did wish it was longer and more world building. while this is a standalone and doesn't focus on the MC in the Order series I do recommend that other listeners give that a try. just so you don't go into it blind.
the narration was fantastic. no complaints.

Historia
As the Light Festival draws near, the Něssyrians craft paper lanterns, awaiting the most important holiday of the year. One he can’t win. With the odds more than stacked against him, the gorgeous Barbarian is as good as dead. Unless his lover, healer Ĥaiatto Ẽkana, proves himself every bit as determined as he is clever and finds a way to protect the man he’d stop at nothing to save.

good side story
Revisado: 03-06-20
the narration was lovely. the pacing was good as well as the clarity and tone of the story.
the story is very short but good and to the point. I would have liked it to be longer and it did leave me wanting more and I hope we get a story about the sad assassin/spark that was introduced at the end of the book. glad there was a happy ending.

first love
Revisado: 03-05-20
the story follows 20yr old Aaron, his crush on his neighbor and childhood friend, Joe, thier developing relationship and the fear and dilemma of coming out. Aaron and Joe are extremely active *cough* so if that interests you then this will be a fantastic listen/read if it's not your thing then it'll be a bit less enjoyable but still a nice listen. there was good chemistry between Aaron and Joe and I loved that both had support from family. I liked that being with Joe encouraged Aaron to grow.
the reading was good. there was a second where there was a word that I thought needed more enunciation but otherwise a fun listen. the characters really came to life and the emotions and tears came through.

Revisado: 03-04-20
I really enjoyed this one. of the two books in the series, this one was my favorite. Carlos and Harry are both very likable and I liked that Carlos didn't worry so much about appearances. it was light and easy to get into.
the narration was good. loved that I could tell which characters were which, they were lively and the pacing was right on point. loved the feelings all characters gave off and I really have no complaints.

soccer romance
Revisado: 03-03-20
it was a kind of typical soccer romance at the start with a semi-closeted MC and an out and proud MC. I kind of didn't like Scott too much. I felt as if he just kept on taking and what he did get he didn't like and didn't think was enough. I especially started hating him when he started flirting with someone else because Jason wasn't all out and he was pretty close to cheating since he didn't know how far he would have gone with said guy. i felt Jason made a lot of concessions in regards to his lifestyle and coming out and I felt Scott wanted him to give up his career so Scott could be happy but didn't really give Jason anything. it felt like a one sided relationship with Jasin giving and giving until he only had his career. jason had come out to everyone but the media and public. I do understand Scott's side but he moved so much quicker than Jason. I felt he could have been more understanding. I wanted scott to suffer for making Jason suffer. but am glad their ending ended well.
the narration was a bit weird to me. the accent was pretty strong and it takes some listening to get use to. the cadence was good and it was easy to differentiate between charcters.

a fave
Revisado: 03-03-20
I love this series and sadly it's not been all made into an audio book. this can be heard as a standalone but in my opinion is better if read in. chronological order. this book was one of my favorites in the series so I'm glad at least this one was turned into an audio book.
that being said. the narrator did a fantastic job of portraying the characters and personalities. the pacing was perfect, it was clean and crisp and very pleasant to the ears. the story was exciting and easy to get into. I enjoyed getting to reknow the characters.

Literally, no denying, because compelling the reluctant detective is all part of a unicorn's seductive magic.

fantastic start to a new fantasy series
Revisado: 02-27-20
loved the audio. there was not a second where I was bored or disengaged from the story. the narrator has a nice voice that easy draws listeners in. I liked that listeners could differentiate between character and there were accents. the narrator candace was on point for the entirety of the audio and made this an awesome listening experience.
as for the story it was very well written with a fun plot and charming characters. I did have my own issues with Quinn and well I probably won't think of unicorns in the same way anymore but other than that it was great. I loved the world building and getting to know the layout of where Twig resides, getting to know the characters and seeing them through there journey. I reccommend this for anyone who love detective novels, fantasy/adventure and romance.

Brute leads a lonely life in a world where magic is commonplace. He is seven and a half feet of ugly, and of disreputable descent. No one, including Brute, expects him to be more than a laborer. But heroes come in all shapes and sizes, and when he is maimed while rescuing a prince, Brute's life changes abruptly. He is summoned to serve at the palace in Tellomer as a guard for a single prisoner. It sounds easy but turns out to be the challenge of his life.

a little heart wrenching with how Brute/Arik? and Gray were treated. the unfolded well and I enjoyed getting to know the characters, hearing them fall for each other and their growth.
the narration was pleasing to the ear. I think Lord Maud? was the only character voiced I think like he sounded very nasally.other then that it was great
