Historia
In The 50th Law, hip hop and pop culture icon 50 Cent (aka Curtis Jackson) joins forces with Robert Greene, best-selling author of The 48 Laws of Power, to write a "bible" for success in life and work based on a single principle: fear nothing. With intimate stories from 50 Cent's life on the streets and in the boardroom as he rose to fame after the release of his album Get Rich or Die Tryin', as well as examples of others who have overcome adversity through understanding and practicing the 50th Law.

Stop letting authors read their books!
Revisado: 08-19-10
While I really liked Robert Greene's older books on Audible this one was just a horrible listen. When authors read their own works it's almost always monotonous and slow. Neil Gaiman is about the only exception to the rule. So this book was a terrible listen and I couldn't get through it. Even though the book itself was fairly good and I'll probably get it on my Kindle instead I have to say skip it on Audible and buy the actual book instead.

Fascinating and enlightening
Revisado: 05-14-10
As a 38 year old who's starting to really feel the changes in how my brain works I was obviously drawn to this book. But unlike most books on the subject this one was absolutely fascinating and a pleasure to listen to. The author uses the most up to date scientific studies which is of the utmost importance to me and the reader was a joy to listen to. It explains a lot about what happens to our brains during that phase of our lives and offers some good advice on how to stop certain types of decline that is rooted in science and not just holistic new age mumbo jumbo that most books of this genre tend to use. All in all I can't recommend this book more highly if you're in the 35-65 age range.

Most of us will admit to living with some kind of fear that holds us back, that keeps us running, or that crushes our hopes and dreams. And if we could peek into the secret longing that lives in the hearts of everyone we know, we would see there the one great wish that we all share in common: we want to be fearless and free.

This is not an audiobook!
Revisado: 08-14-09
This is a series of lectures that are completely slow and rambling and has almost no point. Utter waste of time and money. Most of his ideas are stolen from other authors in the space and I'd suggest reading Seneca if you want to go straight to the source of the ideas. Skip this one.

Above the acidic clouds the temperature and pressure are normal. But to make a living, Timas, like many other young men, is lowered to the surface in an armored suit to scavenge what he can.

This is a fantastic little gem! I found the book on a top list of 2008 SF and I'm glad I did. How can you go wrong with networked space zombies? You can't I tell ya. Great reading all the way through.

Once again, David Sedaris brings together a collection of essays so uproariously funny and profoundly moving that his legions of fans will fall for him all over again. He tests the limits of love when Hugh lances a boil from his backside, and pushes the boundaries of laziness when, finding the water shut off in his house in Normandy, he looks to the water in a vase of fresh cut flowers to fill the coffee machine.

Not his best by a long shot
Revisado: 06-12-08
I couldn't get more than 25% through this one. I've been a huge fan of his in the past but this one doesn't deliver. The stories are really boring and his passion in the reading was non-existent and just put me to sleep.

Walking in This World picks up where Julia Cameron's best-selling book on the creative process, The Artist's Way, left off to present readers with a second course, part two in an amazing journey toward discovering our human potential. Full of valuable new strategies and techniques for breaking through difficult creative ground, this is the "intermediate level" of the Artist's Way program.

This is a religious book. Not a book on creativity. Utterly useless and misleading. Very upset I wasted a credit on it. Avoid.

Good book but annoying reading.
Revisado: 03-07-07
Dear Author,
There is no such word as ecscape or ecspecially. As least you didn't have any reference to nukular. Otherwise it's amazing book but it's nail grinding to listen to this butchery of the language. The audio engineers should have caught this. Besides the reading no complaints at all.

Great nuggets
Revisado: 08-25-06
I don't agree with everything Seth puts out in this book but I do agree with about 90% of his ideas and strategies for building a better business. Most of it's common sense advice that most people just overlook. Some of it is a re-hashing from his other books and some of it relies on you needing to have read Purple Cow. All in all a higghly entertaining and insightful listen. I recommend it to any budding entrepreneur or someone who's is at all interested in changging their lot in life.

Historia
Yates is a Futurist. Which is to say he makes a very good living flying around the world dispensing premonitory wisdom, a.k.a. prepackaged bull, to world governments, corporations, and global leadership conferences. He is an optimist by trade and a cynic by choice. He's the kind of man who can give a lecture on successive days to a leading pesticide manufacturer and the Organic Farmers of America, and receive standing ovations at both.

I have friends that are Futurists and this book is true to their spirit and just a fun listen! It's the best recorded book I've ever heard on audible and I wholeheartedly recommend it. If you are a fan of Bruce Sterling, Cory Doctorow, Neal Stephenson, William Gibson or the like then you MUST pick this up.

Historia
Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk is a novel made up of stories: 23 of them, to be precise. Twenty-three of the most horrifying, hilarious, mind-blowing, stomach-churning tales you'll ever encounter, sometimes all at once. They are told by people who have answered an ad headlined "Writers' Retreat: Abandon Your Life for Three Months", and who are led to believe that here they will leave behind all the distractions of "real life" that are keeping them from creating the masterpiece that is in them.

An amazingly vivid and graphic tale
Revisado: 06-24-05
This book is so not for your average joe. Iron stomach is the base requirement and a terribly gore riddled imagination. That said this is one amazing book. My skin still crawls when I remember some of the stories but they all left a mark on me. Definitely a classic.
