Great Book on Father/Son Relationship
Revisado: 07-17-20
This is a great book not only about HST but about the often very complicated relationship between Fathers and Sons. I would highly, highly recommend it for any HST fans. Or really anyone who wants to read a touching portrait of a complicated father by a loving son.

Historia
The Stock Market Crash of 1929 is an informative introduction to one of the most turbulent events in our history. On October 29, 1929, more than 16 million stock shares were sold at the New York Stock Exchange, and by the end of November, investors had lost more than $100 billion in assets. With the crash, the prosperity of the Roaring Twenties came to a close, and a dark era of financial dispair dawned in the United States.

Short & Concise Intro to Crash & Great Depression
Revisado: 01-08-19
A good, educational introduction to what preceded the '29 crash and what followed, but a little bit on the dry side. Most of the book is actually about the Great Depression. I was a bit surprised how little it actually has in it about the Crash itself or the workings of the stock market at that time.

Historia
Roger Lowenstein, the bestselling author of Buffett, captures Long-Term's roller-coaster ride in gripping detail. Drawing on confidential internal memos and interviews with dozens of key players, Lowenstein crafts a story that reads like a first-rate thriller from beginning to end. He explains not just how the fund made and lost its money, but what it was about the personalities of Long-Term's partners, the arrogance of their mathematical certainties, and the late-nineties culture of Wall Street that made it all possible.

Deep-dive into a key piece of financial history
Revisado: 12-18-18
Great book about LTCM. A must for finance geeks or people seeking to understand WTF went wrong with this fund back in the late 90s. Odd performance (read by author) by author but quirky voice lent a bit of charm to it.

Historia
They thought she'd be ease. They thought wrong. It all began with the phone call asking former porn star Angel Dare to do one more movie. Before she knew it, she’d been shot and left for dead in the trunk of a car. But Angel is a survivor. And that means she’ll get to the bottom of what’s been done to her, even if she has to leave a trail of bodies along the way….

Sexy, Light & Noir
Revisado: 03-19-18
Not the most compelling story in the world but the porn-industry slant is fun and the narrator reads in a sexy, sultry kind of way. Nice pulp/noir entertainment.

Michael Skellig is a limo driver waiting for his client in the alley behind an upscale hotel. He's spent the past 28 hours ferrying around Bismarck Avila, a celebrity skateboard mogul who isn't going home any time soon. Suddenly the wind begins to speak to Skellig in the guttural accent of the Chechen torturer he shot through the eye in Yemen a decade ago: Troubletroubletrouble. Skellig has heard these warnings before....

Historia
Ulysses is regarded by many as the single most important novel of the 20th century. It tells the story of one day in Dublin, June 16th 1904, largely through the eyes of Stephen Dedalus (Joyce's alter ego from Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man) and Leopold Bloom, an advertising salesman. Both begin a normal day, and both set off on a journey around the streets of Dublin, which eventually brings them into contact with one another.

Don't Do It
Revisado: 10-18-17
I have always felt like I needed to read this book, but could never finish it. So listened to it instead. it's absolutely interminable and excruciatingly difficult to follow. Probably was meant to be read not listened to. I guess I'm glad I finally "read" this book but IDK if it was worth the 25 hours I put in over the past two months.

Historia
Is there a science to love? In this groundbreaking audiobook, psychiatrist and neuroscientist Amir Levine and psychologist Rachel S. F. Heller reveal how an understanding of attachment theory - the most advanced relationship science in existence today - can help us find and sustain love. Attachment theory forms the basis for many best-selling books on the parent/child relationship, but there has yet to be an accessible guide to what this fascinating science has to tell us about adult romantic relationships - until now.

Excellent book on relationships
Revisado: 08-24-17
This is an insightful and engaging book about romantic relationships. Its perspective will help you understand yourself and improve your relationships with others. "Quiz" and "Homework" parts would play out better in a print book, an you probably have to advance past them. But this book is packed with great insight, especially for anyone seeking to have more fulfilling relationships.

Historia
In 2015, FIFA - the multibillion dollar governing body of the world's most-loved sport - was brought down by allegations of industrial-scale bribes, kickbacks, money laundering, racketeering, and tax evasion. Beginning with early morning raids in Zurich and the indictment of 27 executives by the US Department of Justice, the rottenness at the core of FIFA seemed to extend throughout all of soccer, from the decision to send the 2018 and 2022 World Cups to Russia and Qatar to lesser known cases of embezzlement from Trinidad to South Africa.
