Quite a satisfactory read
Revisado: 12-11-21
The book completely fulfilled its purpose for me - helping me to fall asleep during the week and binge-listening to its last couple of hours on my day off.
I have to agree that the narrator sounds a bit robotic, but that didn’t bother me much.
I’m quite happy with the plot. The ratio of predictability and suspense was fine to me.
I was amazed by the stupidity of the heroine throughout the book and was constantly swinging between rolling my eyes and being entertained by the way she reacted, drew conclusions and behaved.
Hard to say what exactly made me feel good about the book, but I was excited enough to go on listening, and all in all, I wasn’t disappointed.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Brilliant!

I absolutely loved it. The intrigue, the humour, the poignancy, the hope it made me experience. I’ve just finished listening and I’m a bit stunned. It’s a great book.

Turned out to be quite light-hearted
Revisado: 10-12-21
Taking into account that my only encounter with Liane Moriarty had been just BBL TV series, I was happy to discover that this one wasn’t that intense and no domestic violence was involved (if you are like me and sometimes just want a mental getaway from the hardships of the world, I think it’s good to know that it’s not that kind of a book).
It was dragging at times, and going through the first chapter I thought “do I really need to hear all that inner dialogue of the heroine?”. Then, it got better.
I liked all things connected to hypnotherapy. Somehow could relate to the antagonist and liked her arc, as well as how it was intertwined with the main character’s one.
I got what I expected - some romance, some suspense, good help with going to sleep - not too gripping a book to become an all-nighter, and not too boring one to switch to something else.

Not the best one in the series, but like an old friend
Revisado: 10-12-21
First of all, this was an enjoyable read for me.
I loved the narration (I do wish that it was possible to have a version with a male narrator for the male characters and a female narrator for the female ones, though); adored the accents.
I must say that my favs in the series are The Cuckoo’s calling and Lethal White, so it might tell you something about where my ranking comes from.
Someone wrote that there are too violent scenes in the book. Indeed there are some towards the end of the book, and frankly speaking, the book would benefit from cutting those out.
All in all, I loved the storylines, the twist of the plot, the characters development and can’t wait till the next book in the series is out.
