Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Great story, great performance
Revisado: 01-29-25
I never thought I’d read a Sci-fi book and enjoy it so much. It’s a great story that keeps moving at a good space and is very satisfying. The audio performance is equally awesome. I highly recommend giving it a try if you have any interest in space travel, extraterrestrial life and how we could relate.

This ambitious, electrifying work traces the harrowing journey of the famed Sarajevo Haggadah, a beautifully illuminated Hebrew manuscript created in 15th-century Spain. When it falls to Hanna Heath, an Australian rare-book expert, to conserve this priceless work, the series of tiny artifacts she discovers in its ancient binding—an insect wing fragment, wine stains, salt crystals, a white hair—only begin to unlock its deep mysteries.

The word “said” is used way to much.
Revisado: 03-07-22
The premise of the book is good but the writing is so poor I couldn’t finish it.
There is too much attention to minutiae that doesn’t advance the story or draw a better picture of what is happening.

It's a fun book, well written but too young for me I read the first in the series and enjoyed it too but the predictability of everything got to me in the end

Very good book
Revisado: 06-09-21
First I want to start by saying the readers were superb and then say that characters were well developed, story line great and finally that I learned a lot about Lafayette that was definitely lacking in my education. Stephanie Gray delivers again

A book about an issue of importance
Revisado: 05-12-21
I wasn’t sure at first but kept going and am very glad I did. It is a story from two viewpoints about interracial marriages between our armed force servicemen and host country woman with the resulting mixed blood children. I learned a lot about Japanese culture and the fate of children conceived by a soldier and a Japanese woman
It was a bit preachy at times and the American viewpoint a little over dramatic but in the end a satisfying story that made me cry more than a few times

Great story. Great writer. Great readers
Revisado: 01-29-18
I love just about anything Allende writes and this is no exception. Her characters are beautifully drawn and very real. The story is only a backdrop to explain their human condition and such a story they have to tell
