New Narrator ruins experience.

Miss the first narrator but the new one is still good.

This is another great story in this series. The arc of one of the central characters is the most surprising yet given how it begins.
The main complaint most review have about this story is the new narrator. I admit to being extremely disappointed that Ralph Lister who did such an amazing job in the first three books was not back for the rest. His narration is a large part of why I love these books. However the new narrator is still good, not as bad as other reviews make it sound. I do wish he had listened to the first three books for consistency in the way words are pronounced and characters speak. Hopefully in coming episodes he will get better at creating more unique and appropriate voices for different characters.
This story does leave me eager to continue listening to this series.

Outstanding!!!!

The third Malazan book is my favorite one so far. It is both the funniest and most heartbreaking book in the series.
The narrator is fantastic. He does an amazing job and hopefully has one whatever award there is for best in this field. He brings to life the wit of the dialog and succeeds in making a vast number of characters sound unique and believable.
Overall an excellent listen! Loved it.

Despite introducing a nearly entirely new cast of characters, this book draws you in deeper to the story that the first book began. It reaches a new depth of emotional intensity as well. I am looking forward to the third book.
