The ONLY reason I bought this book was so I could continue following Marcus Ryker's adventures. Christ, what happened to Adam Ruper?! He had the PERFECT voice for Marcus, and his accents for the other foreign characters were authentic and unique. Whoever this George Guidall guy is should never read another political thriller in his life. Monotone, dry, utterly bored with the subject at hand. I'll probably end up getting this on Kindle and reading it myself. SO disappointed.

I don’t know how I missed this book's greatness the first time I listened, but the second time? Holy crap. Action, adventure, utter heartbreak, overwhelming stress, this book has it all!!!

Based on the summary, I was STOKED to finally grab this book. The Six of Crows series was so well done, I was like, oh man, here we go again! Let me start off with this: the concept of secret societies existing at highly ranked, upscale colleges is cool, I'm all for exploring that idea. And I may actually end up getting this book in another format. I loved the male narrator, I was able to focus so easily in his voice, and he played Darlington exceptionally well. But whoever narrated Alex just... I wanted to go to sleep. For about 95% of the book, her voice was so monotone, I couldn't tell you what was going on with that character plot-wise. It really affected the quality of the story for me, which sucks, because Leigh Bardugo is an AMAZING writer!

I think this would've been so much easier to listen had someone other than the author narrated it. I don't mind watching Sally Field on the big screen, but her voice (at least for me) is not conducive for audiobook performances.

I wish I could say I liked this particular lecture series, but that would be a lie. I liked the lecture format, but the content left something to be desired. I did not like the Christian overtones laced throughout each lecture with mentions of parables from the Bible. I was looking for a scientific, objective analysis of human nature, not a religious, moral one. If you're looking for the same thing, I'd definitely skip this audiobook.

Jon Sherberg did an AMAZING job, he really did. He made even the most mundane parts of the Old Testament sound like an adventure. I forgot several times that I was listening to what was supposed to be a holy text. James Earl Jones, on the other hand... Let's just say disappointing would be complimentary. I don't know who was in charge of the recording technology for this, but they did an awful job. Between the breathing sounds, the swallowing sounds, and the clearly distinguishable recording quality (even in between verses), the New Testament was horrible to listen to. Returning it in hopes to find a better quality production.

Both a factual historical telling of the burning of Black Wall Street and a fictional parallel of a young black teenager confronting racism in her small hometown in Oklahoma. This book is enraging, saddening, and a serious must-read for every American, no matter their color.

Given that Margaret Mitchell didn't write this sequel, it's a shockingly good follow-up to the original Gone with the Wind. The same selfishness and self-centered attitude that was a staple of Scarlett's personality in the first book was ever present throughout this second one, from Georgia to South Carolina and across the pond to Ireland. Nobody gets in their own way as much as Scarlett O'Hara does, and it's astounding to witness.

If people think history isn't repeating itself these days, they should absolutely listen to this book. Hearing real-life stories of experiences of what's supposed to be the Greatest Generation is truly eye-opening.

I love Scott Brick, I truly do, but this was just not a good audiobook experience. Some books don't translate well to audio format, and this is one of them. The only consistent character I could keep track of was Dr. Calvin, and even she seemed more a background character than anything. Would not recommend, just get the Kindle version and read it on your own. The content might be more digestible that way.
