Historia
For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare--poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

Makes you question every doubt you’ve ever had about yourself
Revisado: 07-05-22
To me, it feels like most incredible people start from a good place in life, this is not the case with goggins. He started as an unmotivated person, with nothing uniquely special. You have no excuses after reading this, you just have to truly want this mindset.

Historia
We all feel fear. Yet we are often taught to ignore it, overcome it, push past it. But to what benefit? This is the essential question that guides Kristen Ulmer's remarkable exploration of our most misunderstood emotion in The Art of Fear. Once recognized as the best extreme skier in the world (an honor she held for 12 years), Ulmer knows fear well. In this conversation-changing audiobook, she argues that fear is not here to cause us problems.

A beautiful book
Revisado: 07-03-20
I feel a bit odd giving this book a rating after reading it, as I have come away with a newfound appreciation for questioning my beliefs and judgements. While I can’t say that any book is objectively good, I can say that this one was incredibly impactful for me. I will continue to question the advice in it, as well as the act of questioning. For now all I can say is that I have a new direction and passion in life. I’ve never felt this at peace with myself before. Thank you!
To anyone who struggles with their emotions in the slightest, this book brings a really unique perspective to the table. It’s much more than just fear.

Historia
When Adam Piggott rode his motorbike across Australia chasing a girl he barely knew, he didn't understand much about anything at all. He wanted to change his life, but he didn't know how or what to change. The girl was the catalyst that forced him out of his comfortable existence. This is the story of how a young man with no direction ended up working as a river guide in a range of exotic locations around the world.

Not for me
Revisado: 07-03-19
I bought this audiobook because I thought it might inspire me to venture out like the author did. I’m a 19 year male, and maybe I’m just low on testosterone but I could not relate to this guy in any sort of fashion. So for all those reviews telling you that it’s a good book to read when coming into adulthood, just give it a second thought. As for the story, it’s alright, definitely gets a bit more interesting near the end.

Practical! I bought this on a whim thinking it would mostly be theoretical, I’m glad I was wrong.
Revisado: 03-27-19
As someone who can write a lot of musical loops but has always had trouble structuring them into full songs, this was perfect. I now know why my song structures have never quite sounded "right", and how to correct that by using different levels of energy. My only criticism would be that I wished the accompanying graphics were categorized better. I ended up avoiding them all together because I never knew where they took place in book. Though the author/narrator did a good job of describing them.
