Short & Sweet Perfection!
Revisado: 04-16-25
Can a meet-cute be both sweet and heart-wrenching? Leslie Pike proves it can.
After an unexpected run-in with a stray dog, Farrah finds herself at the local vet clinic, and that’s where fate introduces her to Nash, a widowed, single-dad veterinarian. Farrah, still reeling from the recent loss of both her parents, is caught in that in-between of grief and starting over. She has a job lined up, a plan in place, but then Nash walks in with his quiet strength and easy charm… and everything shifts.
Narrated in dual POV by Lucy Rivers and Lee Samuels, this audiobook strikes the perfect balance between sweet and sexy. Lucy brings Farrah to life with just the right amount of vulnerability, portraying a woman trying to stay strong while feeling lost. Lee gives Nash that protective, swoon-worthy edge that makes him impossible not to fall for. He’s gentle, grounded, and not afraid to fall fast and hard.
Leslie Pike is a master of packing big heart into short listens, and Desting Laughs is no exception. It’s tender, character-driven, and laced with just the right amount of spice and angst to keep your heart full of all the feels!

A perfect blend of suspense and spice
Revisado: 04-04-25
Codename: Havoc is an action packed drama blended perfectly with a beautiful second chance love story.
Charlie has survived more than her fair share of heartbreak. After being abandoned by Rourke—she ends up in a toxic, abusive marriage. When she finally escapes her husband after a brutal attack, she finds herself at the Omega compound, only to be reunited with Rourke after many years apart. Their connection is still there, raw and undeniable, but their reunion isn’t without complications.
Rourke, a former Navy SEAL, has his own demons to battle. The regret of walking away from Charlie weighs on him, and now that she’s back in his life, he’s determined to prove he’s not going anywhere. But between their painful past, the trauma she’s endured, and his struggle with taking on more missions after a devastating loss, their journey back to each other is anything but easy.
Narrator Raven Rose perfectly embodies Charlie’s transformation—from a woman weighed down by fear and pain to someone who stands her ground and refuses to be broken. Co-star Joe Arden delivers an incredible performance as Rourke, balancing his tough, alpha presence with the vulnerability and emotion that make him such a compelling and loveable character.
Toothill perfectly weaves together action, romance, and emotional depth, making this book so much more than just a love story. Combined with the phenomenal performances of two outstanding voice actors, I was completely hooked from the very first chapters.

Historia
It started with a little white lie and ended with me being owned by a black-hearted mafia boss. And now... my baby daddy. Of all people to tease to live out a fantasy. I fell into bed with a hacker for the Irish mob: Balor O'Rourke. Who also happens to be my new lethally gorgeous boss with nerdy dark glasses, penetrating green eyes, and a body made for sin. He doesn't do relationships and I'm getting over an abusive ex. With that understanding, we shatter the rules, unleashing his unbridled desires and my carnal urges.

Shattered Veil by Deborah Garland
Revisado: 03-15-25
I just finished listening to Shattered Veil by Deborah Garland, narrated in duet by Desiree Ketchum and JF Harding. I DID NOT BREATHE the last hour of this book. The plot twists are masterfully executed, building suspense until the very last second. I didn’t see those coming. At. All.
Deborah keeps the tension razor-sharp, making every new revelation hit like a gut punch.
From the moment Balor and Ella meet on a plane, sparks fly—this is not a slow burn. Their instant connection leads to a spicy in-flight encounter, setting the stage for a whirlwind romance. Balor, an Irish mafia boss, is as dangerous as he is protective, especially when he learns about Ella’s abusive ex, a cop who refuses to let her go.
Balor hires Ella’s hacker father for his company, with the condition that Ella is brought on as well. Now working as Balor’s assistant, the lines between professional and personal blur, and their feelings soon intensify.
The combination of dark romance, action, and raw emotion makes this audiobook impossible to pause.
Narrators Desiree Ketchum and JF Harding are phenomenal as Ella and Balor. Produced in duet style narration, both voice actors captured the emotions Deborah wrote flawlessly. Their chemistry makes the tension, passion, and emotions in the story feel even more intense.
I love this Irish mafia world that Deborah has created with her Astoria Royals series. Shattered Veil is the second book in the interconnected standalone series, can be read by itself, but I highly recommend starting with book one as it is where we enter the Astoria world and meet the core characters.

Ronan: This world was never meant for me—a shadowed figure wandering, fueled by carnal desires until I am destined for hell. And I embrace it wholeheartedly. But then she came into the picture after my successful hunt at a local coffee shop. She offered me a simple act of kindness, and in that moment, I was consumed by her. My obsession with Everly knows no bounds, and there is no escape. Her fate is to become one with me, bound by darkness and consumed by our twisted desires.

Unhinged perfection
Revisado: 02-19-25
A simple, kind gesture—buying a stranger’s coffee—spirals into a harrowing, pulse-pounding journey of captivity, survival, and unexpected connection. Beatitude is a dark novella that doesn’t shy away from shock value, keeping you on edge from start to finish.
Everly’s nightmare begins when she’s kidnapped. But the real terror unfolds when she finds herself in an even more dangerous situation—one that forces her to beg her captor, Ronan, to save her. It’s a twisted game of "I need to escape but save me," where morality is blurred, and the line between captor and savior becomes thin. Everly’s internal struggle is brought to life flawlessly by Marie Hawkins, who delivers a performance that captures both fear and reluctant desire.
Ronan is a morally black, tortured man with a devastating past. The kind of character that perfectly explores the age-old question: Is evil born or made? Joe Arden delivers one of his best performances yet, embodying Ronan’s pain, darkness, and undeniable allure. The accent, the breaths, the creepy drawn out whispers, the heart-wrenching tears you can hear in his voice.
Unhinged perfection.
This novella is packed with jaw-dropping moments, proving DJ's talent for crafting morally complex characters that readers can’t help but root for. Short but powerful, Beatitude is a dark, intense, and unforgettable book, easily securing a spot as one of my top reads of the year. Maybe even ever.

Brilliant!
Revisado: 02-08-25
Ayden Perry’s Living Dead Girl is a grotesquely fascinating steampunk horror that pushes every imaginable boundary.
Sean Masters’ deep, commanding voice is perfect for Jax, while Raven Wildewood delivers a striking performance as Monica. Their dual narration adds an unsettling intimacy to this twisted tale.
The story begins with Jax unaliving his corrupt twin brother, Jeremy, and assuming his identity as a doctor. Monica, an outcasted loner, runs her family's funeral home as the mortician. One night, she is brought a "Johnny", whom she becomes obsessed with. If you've read the triggers, you know what happens next.
From there, manipulation, depravity, and shockingly dark humor weave through a story that somehow still manages to be an unconventional love story.
Ayden Perry’s writing is as outrageous as the plot itself, with terms like “creamy love,” “popsicle,” "kebob", and “Pringles can” making already shocking moments even more absurd. This book is not for the faint of heart. Read the trigger warnings. But if you can handle extreme horror with a side of pitch-black comedy, Living Dead Girl is absolutely BRILLIANT.

Words alone cannot capture the profound impact this book has had on me. I've always struggled with poetry—reading it, understanding it—it often left me feeling somewhat lost.
And then came Shadow. Self.
This collection of raw, honest, painful, chilling, and thought-provoking poems has evoked a whirlwind of emotions within me. I've spent countless hours listening to books narrated by Joe Arden, but none compare to the beauty of the words he has penned in this masterpiece.
Joe, this book is absolutely stunning. Bravo.

Commitment is not my thing nor do I want it to be. After the things I’ve been through with women, I have sworn off relationships. There’s only ever been one woman that I thought I felt pulled to and I blew it. Not only was it the best date of my life, it was also the worst night of my life. Since then, I have become a nail and bail kind of guy. But then Sunday Sutton bursts back into my life, and ends up living with her son and their pet chicken across the hall from me.

Ash by DJ Krimmer
Revisado: 10-19-24
This book centers around Ash and Sunday, whose casual dating arrangement brings out both their strengths and vulnerabilities, brings out laughs and swoons, and definitely brings out the spice.
While the miscommunications between them sometimes frustrated me, it also added a layer of realism to their relationship struggles, something that DJ excels at.
Stella Bloom's narration is a standout aspect of this audiobook. Her performance is exceptional, (that southern accent is perfection!) bringing the characters and emotions to life in a way that truly enhances the story.
Grayson Owen's portrayal of Ash had some really great moments, although there were times when he came off as bored.
One of the book's highlights is Ash's relationship with Sunday's son Wade. The most touching moment in the story was Wade's desperate plea for Ash to be his father. It was a powerful and emotional scene, and a definite standout moment in the book.
I love the Hel's Ink Series, and Ash definitely continued it perfectly. I especially loved the cameos of the characters from the previous books. DJ gave us another incredible book with engaging characters and an emotional story. Despite some frustrations with character behavior and occasional inconsistency in narration, the book's strengths truly shine through with DJ's writing, and especially with Stella Bloom's incredible performance.

Lauren Locklear. She has no idea that I would do anything for her. She doesn’t understand the mountains I would climb just to keep her safe. That’s okay though, I’ll make sure she does. She thinks she’s weak, and given the lack of love and support from those closest to her, I can understand why. That changes now, I will make her see the strong woman I see when I look at her. I’ve pined for her in secret, wanting nothing more than to show her what she could have. But with my past still haunting me, I knew it would be best to stay back.

Perfection
Revisado: 09-09-24
How can you possibly put into words how much you loved a book?
It's not just about a tattoo shop.
It's not just about a girl and boy falling in love.
It's about a man who thinks he cannot love. Who has been broken by the people who are supposed to love him most.
It's about a girl who is insecure about herself and doesn't believe she deserves that man's love.
It's about the kind of love that makes you so impulsive as to propose marriage to someone so they can have your health insurance.
It's about reading audiobooks so you can learn about how to best help with your new wife's health health condition.
It's about teaching your new wife that she is beautiful no matter what she sees in the mirror. That if she could see herself through your eyes, she would feel like the most beautiful woman in the world.
It's about letting go of the people who hurt you the most in your life and learning to lean on your found family even if they are not blood..
It's about letting go of those insecurities and realizing you deserve every bit of love the people around you want to give you.
It's about representation...and proving we all need love and care no matter our circumstance or condition or disease.
As with every book I read, I went in blind to this one. I had no idea this cinnamon roll with a troubled past and this brilliant but self-doubting woman would move me as much as it did. It hit me hard. How real these characters are. Their struggles. Their traumas. Don't event get me started on Howard...I'll likely cry again.
Now take those words DJ wrote and have them brought to life by the powerhouse duo of Joe Arden and Angelina Rocca. The inner monologs, the comedic delivery, the banter, the tears, and of course the spice, all together took an incredible book and made it one of the most amazing reading experiences I've ever had.
I wish I could give more than 5 stars because this book deserves way more.

Heather Firth & Sean Masters....WOW!!!
Revisado: 06-13-24
This is the first book I've read by Katelyn Taylor. Not gonna lie, listening to the trigger warnings, which were VERY well performed by narrator Heather Firth, I got a little nervous that this book was gonna be too much for me. Then the other part of me, the dark romance lover, got really excited.
But sadly, this book just fell short.
I kept thinking am I that jaded or was it just missing the mark, and sadly, I think it's the latter of the two. Produced in duet style narration by Bluenose audio, narrators, Heather Firth and Sean Masters delivered incredible performances as Blake and Xaden/Dominic respectively. (Shout out to Sean for actually yelling when the author writes the word he yelled. Small detail - big impact.) Maybe it's just my expectation was too high. Maybe the trope list got my hopes up. And it just fell short. I was thinking it was going to be a lot more of a story than it actually was. I felt there were definitely some plotholes. There wasn't much mention of Maxim or character development so when we got towards the climax, i was confused and thought i missed something. The spice is definitely spicy. The performances by Heather and Sean were fantastic, but sadly that couldn't save this book for me.
