This is not a book filled with characters that you’ll find yourself thinking about after you’ve read it. Nor is it a story that will surprise you in any way. If you have a long drive ahead of you and don’t want to be too distracted from the road, this might suit. Otherwise, I would pass it by.

This book would have been twice as good at half the length. Interminable descriptions, hackneyed characters flimsy motivations and distracting inconsistencies are narrated by an apparent graduate of the William Shatner school of diction.

Assuming that a writer puts their best foot forward in order to draw you into the book and keep you there, this is a sorry effort. It was weak and two-dimensional from the start. I tried hard to engage with the story and the characters, because I hate to waste good money, but I hate wasting time even more, and I had to write this one off as a loss.
I hate to rate the performance poorly; it was as good as could be expected from a weak story.
