Historia
A deputy sheriff was shot to death during a routine traffic stop on a dark country road. From what can been seen on the cruiser's video recorder of the killers, it is believed that they were a couple of Boston-based drug runners who had been on their way from Canada down to Boston. That's what brings Joe Gunther and his team to the investigation - an attempt to shut down the major drug running operation.

HATING this narrator!!!
Revisado: 10-14-22
I am SO tempted to return this book before I plod through the hours I have left. WHY WHY WHY did you change narrators? Why change what was working well? Bring back Tom Taylorson!!!!
If I'd read these reviews before purchasing this book I think I would've skipped it. Every hour is hurting my ears...

a half decent premise, but the main character's angst severely debilitated the narrative, so annoying

Historia
Dale Maharidge’s father, like many World War II veterans, never talked about “the good war”. There was just one clue to his dad’s experience as a US Marine - a portrait with a close friend that hung permanently in their home. In The Dead Drink First, Dale, now a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, recounts his 18-year quest to find and repatriate the missing remains of his dad’s buddy, Herman Walter Mulligan, 73 years after he was killed in action.

Terrible production and sound quality!
Revisado: 07-24-19
I have repeatedly tried to finish this book but have now decided not to bother. The sound quality is just too awful and it is almost impossible to hear what is going on. I find myself turning up the volume, then having to turn it down for the other voice.
Ugh!
Just not worth the effort!
