I wish this book would have come with a warning actually - the book is tough to get through. I'm only able to listen to a couple of chapters at a time - and of course with the subject matter the plot and pace make complete sense. It doesn't make it any easier to listen to. I wish I hadn't wasted a credit on it now that I'm almost done but at this point I'm determined to listen to the whole thing at least once, even if afterwards I shelve it and never listen to it again. Unfortunately for me the credit was kind of wasted here but it *is* a powerful book. Just a bit too dark for my tastes. You've been warned.

Charming in the Best Ways

Amazing book - I'm now officially a fan of the author as well as the narrators. I loved the characters and the plot and the depth of the emotions portrayed. This was by far so worth the credit it's not even funny. So glad I took a chance on this book - can't wait to experience more!!! Ten stars.

So Worth It

So I've hesitated to listen to this book - I saw the reviews and the Audible spotlight review and I love love love these narrators but I just couldn't bring myself to listen. Now I'm SO glad I did. It was an amazing listen - the realistic portrayal of the most unrealistic paranormal things made this a fun one and it was so well written that I was sucked in after only 10 minutes. I definitely recommend this as a jumping start for the shifter category - now I'm *HOOKED*. Love love love this one. GIve it a shot!

Fantastic Performance - Humanizing the Fringe

First off - HUGE trigger warning.

Second - wow. Amazingly written, beautifully performed and ultimately I know this will be a repeat. DEFINITELY worth a listen.

Gone back for seconds and thirds - great quick listen on a commute. Fun and cute and a great plotline that packed a couple surprises. A definite listen!

Typical Bad Boy Trope

The twists were as interesting as they were predictable. Of course the a-hole bad boy with a hidden hurting heart begging to love is the irresistible secret half brother of the charming alternative love interest who is WAY too good for the main character. Honestly I don't know why the male characters bother with her. Other than her looks the author didn't lend much else to the character - certainly no depth other than omg he's so hot I want him but oh no his brother is such a great guy. PASS.

Narrator Ok, But....

The story has a feeling like you're stepping into a complete world and you're trying to put the pieces together as you go - like you missed something. I felt like I entered a series mid season, not like this was an intro book to a new series. Off putting. Otherwise great concept for a novel, just not well thought out.

Let Me Just Say

I understand a definite need for conflict early in a plotline to drive the rest of the narrative but the nasaly tone of the narrator to the "He's so hot but what a d-bag but he's SOooo hot" plotline at the beginning tore me to pieces. Couldn't finish the first chapter. Skipping didn't help, just going to return.

Main character is a *B*

Can I just say I made it to an hour and 45 mins left before the main character turned into such a raging B I had to stop the story. A character can be humanized without alienating an audience and unfortunately the author missed the mark this time. Some faults can be charming and add a level of depth that draw someone in, but a cruel woman to such a kind main man character was just unnecessary and a huge let down and had me hoping the happy ending was the man moving on to someone else entirely. Don’t waste your time with this one.
