Historia
Savor one of the most clever of Christie's suspenseful classics. An American businessman is stabbed to death aboard a luxury train, the Orient Express, snowbound in the middle of Europe. Nothing escapes the eagle eye and quick intelligence of the great Hercule Poirot, and clues abound. Sorting through a dozen perfectly respectable passengers, all suspects, Poirot is tenacious in his pursuit of the truth.

Better than any Poirot tv show
Revisado: 07-19-22
As you know this is narrated by David Suchet. He does a different sounding voice for every character whether man or lady. It is a top performance. Ms. Christie’s is at the top too. I’ve listened to it many times and always find it very enjoyable.

Historia
Todd Hewitt is the only boy in a town of men. Ever since the settlers were infected with the Noise germ, Todd can hear everything the men think, and they hear everything he thinks. Todd is just a month away from becoming a man, but in the midst of the cacophony, he knows that the town is hiding something from him - something so awful Todd is forced to flee with only his dog, whose simple, loyal voice he hears too. With hostile men from the town in pursuit, the two stumble upon a strange and eerily silent creature: a girl. Who is she?

Pass and pass again
Revisado: 03-08-21
I saw the ad for the new movie Chaos Walking. I noticed it was based on a novel. This book is the first part of multi part series.
The beginning is interesting, the first 3 hours. The next 8 hours are definitely chaos. At the end remember this is the first part of a multi part series. At one point the main character is told by his most respected, loved, mentor that everything he's been told is a lie. The main character of course forgets this and so the story goes into 8 hours of a dog chasing it's tail.

1468. A young priest, Christopher Fairfax, arrives in a remote Exmoor village to conduct the funeral of his predecessor. The land around is strewn with ancient artifacts - coins, fragments of glass, human bones - which the old parson used to collect. Did his obsession with the past lead to his death? Fairfax becomes determined to discover the truth. Over the course of the next six days, everything he believes - about himself, his faith, and the history of his world - will be tested to destruction.

Not Robert Harris best
Revisado: 11-09-20
I’ve very much enjoyed Pompei and The Ghost Writer. I believe most of his stories are excellent. The premise of this book is excellent. The performance is excellent but the main character development is poor. It’s true what other reviews say about the ending. The last ten minutes are much out of character for Mr. Harris. Many things occur and I thought how convenient. The main character discovers something but it’s not clear. And then the BIG BIG BIG letdown and immediately thereafter The End! My guess is Mr. Harris was going to be sued for slander by a giant worldwide company or the publisher feared such; and the book had to be ended this way.
I think yall should listen to it but it won’t be one you listen to often. I plan to ask Audible for my credit back.

Ex-trailer trash. Ex-res. Dishonorably discharged ex-Force Recon Marine and MP. Ex-con. Ex-biker. Ex-FBI informant. Ex-wrestler. It’s a lot of x’s to have by your name. It can give you a bad attitude, and it is not a good resume for most walks of American life. But it’s not a bad career track at all for a fixer in Los Angeles, and if the name of the new job is surviving the end of the world? Put it this way. Staying alive in the post-apocalypse can be a real bitch. Sometimes it takes a real bastard.

Meet John Milton. He considers himself an artisan. A craftsman. His trade is murder. Milton is the man the government sends after you when everything else has failed. Ruthless. Brilliant. Anonymous. Lethal. You wouldn't pick him out of a crowd but you wouldn't want to be on his list. But now, after ten years, he's had enough - there's blood on his hands and he wants out. Trouble is, this job is not one you can just walk away from. He goes on the run, seeking atonement for his sins by helping the people he meets along the way.

European style high drama little cleaning
Revisado: 06-11-16
I was expecting American action. A little cleaning at the beginning and at the end. For the "Cleaner's" supposed knowledge he really underestimates his foe. A man who helped him and another who is friend both die; there is no reaction of sadness or change from him.
At the end of the story had he really atoned for anything? No, there was more sadness and chaos then when he wasn't there. I was very disappointed and will be deleting from my library.

Be secure in your faith before listening!
Revisado: 01-05-13
This is an interesting story with a definite ending. Of course there are always a couple of parts that you should not dwell on for believability. There is a lot of action and good flow. Surely, you have heard of the Knights Templar and their protection of some secrets. This story is one possible line of those secrets coming to light. The story takes place in current times and flashbacks to the past. The narrator is very good.

England 1171 AD, your first Medieval story ?
Revisado: 03-30-12
Murder mystery. Main character a lady with a special talent sent on a secret
mission to help the King of England. There is alot of background explanation
along the way. Good character development. The story is about the people
of the time and their inter workings. This is not a war story. The killer is not
revealed till near the end. And that is not the end of the story. The reader is
a lady and very good in pronounciation. One of my favorites.

Historia
Pride and Prejudice captures the affections of class-conscious 18th-century English families with matrimonial aims and rivalries. This story of the Bennet family and the novel's two protagonists, Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy, is told with a wit that author Jane Austen feared might prove "rather too light and bright, and sparkling".

Excellent story of love and feelings at that time. The BBC movie with Colin
Firth was much like this. Most of the characters thoughts or reasons for
action are given by the author and there is alot of explanation at the end.
I thought the author should tell us more of Mr. Darcy and his coming to terms
with his own faults. The movie added a little in this regard. I will listen to this
one many times.

What a dog is thinking...
Revisado: 09-09-11
The whole story is from the perspective of the dog, Chet. And he is the story teller. If you have owned or been around dogs this will help you understand them. This is
a detective story with Chet's owner as the detective. Would say the story was for all ages except for a line about Chet's olfactory skills and some four letter words beginning with f. Some parts a little drawn out as Chet limited in communication.
Definitely, a different sort of book.

When each character has a different voice it is probably going to be good and this audio book does. The book is much the same as the movie with the background added. Some of the background related to sex would have pushed the movie beyond the "R" rating. If you liked the movie; get this too!
