Meh? *mini spoiler*
Revisado: 02-18-25
The narrator was fantastic but the story could have been probably 2 or 3 hours shorter… It wound around, Sarkis’ *big secret* wasn’t really all that awful so the misunderstanding seemed forced. Again, the writing itself was good but it felt like there was unnecessary filler.

If the first two in the series were “pretty good” then Arrow’s Fall was GREAT. The narration was fantastic but I warn you it takes a turn into being more violent. But all in all bravo!

Historia
Aria Rialta is a girl of two realities. One she was born to. The other she was chosen for. Both are a threat. Every night when Aria falls asleep, she enters the nightmare world of Faydor to fight a war. It’s her calling to help destroy the Kruen, who feed sin and chaos to our everyday world of vulnerable humans. It would be a lonely realm in which to do battle if not for Pax, Aria’s dangerously irresistible soulmate whose mere touch can kill. It’s also a realm that’s getting harder to escape.

Mixed Opinion..
Revisado: 01-30-25
I really liked the story and world-building but the MMC had one personality trait: his utter, nonstop intensity. Like he is relentlessly wrapped up in protecting the FMC and the male narrator didn’t help… I found myself not wanting to hear his perspective.

Historia
After a devastating loss, Brynn Wilder escapes to Wharton, a tourist town on Lake Superior, to reset, and checks into a quaint boardinghouse. In her fellow lodgers, she finds a friendly company of strangers: the frail Alice, cared for by a married couple with a heartbreaking story of their own; LuAnn, the eccentric and lovable owner of the inn; and Dominic, an unsettlingly handsome man inked from head to toe in mesmerizing tattoos. But in this inviting refuge, a mystery begins to swirl. Alice knows things about Brynn, about all of them, that she shouldn’t.

HATE HATE LOATHE ENTIRELY
Revisado: 10-17-24
I listened to this on audible— this was awful. So dull, the narrator sounds like she’s on pain killers. BIG SPOILERS** The author rambles on and on about really trivial details while failing to explain what the main character even looks like or how old she is. Brynn talks about being in a dream in the late 70s in her childhood and her parents MEETING after WWII… you assume the novel is taking place in present day and she’s somehow able to get pregnant when I was assuming she was middle aged most of the book because she mentioned being in a long relationship of 20 years. I am baffled by the good reviews. Huge holes! she never finds out (or cares) about what Dominic really does you’re basically supposed to believe he is the angel of death for other people all while getting her pregnant and then dying? Then being able to reincarnate themselves? So dumb.

Revisado: 03-12-24
Wow, I started this book because I have read others by this author but this might be my favorite so far. The mystery is good, I’m so glad the sequel is out. If you’re a fan of great world-building (the classes of magic are very unique to me) and historical crushes give this a shot!

The third book in this series it’s just as good as the first two. With no spoilers here I can say that I am excited for any other sequels. I loved the introduction of the Druid people as well. Author continues her excellent world-building.

Historia
When Marilyn Kleinman is caught making out with the rabbi’s son in front of the whole congregation, her parents ship her off to her great-aunt Ada for the summer. If anyone can save their daughter’s reputation, it’s Philadelphia’s strict premier matchmaker. Either that or Marilyn can kiss college goodbye. To Marilyn’s surprise, Ada’s not the humorless septuagenarian her mother described. Not with that platinum-blonde hair, Hermès scarf, and Cadillac convertible. She’s sharp, straight-talking, takes her job very seriously, and abides by her own rules…mostly.

Thanks to house tamer Hulda Larkin, the mischief infesting Whimbrel House has calmed. But if Hulda’s job is done, what does that mean for Merritt Fernsby, inheritor of the remote Narragansett Bay estate, who’s only now coming to terms with his enchanted place in the world? Merritt has realized his own burgeoning powers, which draw the thoughts of every plant, insect, and dog. His nights are sleepless, with an uncontrollable cacophony of voices that compel a long-overdue search into his uncanny bloodline. It’s not the only puzzle uniting Merritt and his ex-housekeeper, Hulda.
