The narrator all but destroyed the story

The story for the most part goes over a lot of The previous storyline and other books. It gives the point of view for Stacia and enhances the relationship between her and Declan. However, the narrator Mispronounced names, corrected it ,Only to do it again, two chapters later. I know this is a woman reading many male parts, however for her to differentiate them instead of lowering her voice, she sent them almost into a Minnie Mouse screech. When it comes to her accents, they fade in and out, depending upon where she’s reading it. Totally dismal performance. Would not recommend.

Slow Story and Sad Narration

I’m asking if Dana Stabenow wrote this book. Somehow it’s lost its charm. The story is slow to start and finally improves around chapter 6. Also she’s resurrected characters from the dead. The biggest disappointment is the narrator. I had difficulty identifying the characters as she has degraded to “reading” the story versus prior “performances”. I guess my expectations are too high.

Narrator Killed the Experience

The story line was somewhat tepid. I understand that this was a story to complete series and the author was tying up loose ends, but the intense action factor was missing. Some characters simply weren’t portrayed as in prior books. The narrator came close to ruining the book. He slide from simply “reading” to trying to differentiate the characters and failed at both. I finally stopped and finished the book on Kindle.

Good Levi POV

Don’t waste your credits

Peterman has written many funny books that are semi-well written. This isn’t one of them. The main character is a twit that the author desperately tries to make amusing…she failed. To add insult to injury, the narrator sounds like a screech owl!

High School Much

Although this book moves the story along for all of the characters in the series, this enter book was like a teenage angst boy/girl soap opera. The newly introduced characters spent so much time and verbiage on “how do you feel about Declan “ that this should have been a YA book. The Author went on a wild hare with this entry.

Don’t waste your time

Standard Nora Roberts romance and pseudo thriller. The protagonists are likeable and overly sweet. The bad guys are one dimensional and totally ugly. The consistent theme throughout this disjointed story is domestic abuse ramped up to a ridiculous pitch. Skip this one and look for better writing. The narration was excellent, too bad the story wasn’t!

Weak Story & What happened to the reader

Weakest Anne Bishops of “The Others” series. Grim and over long. The reader has a tendency to add a southern accent to almost all of the characters, but in this novel most of the female characters were shrieking in high C range and jumping in and out if the southern accent. After awhile I put audio book away and went to the library for the book. Couldn’t finish the audio book.

Yawn!

The narrator was excellent as always. The story meandered and stalled way too many times. The first couple and the last chapter were the most interesting in the book. The bad guys where viscous and stupid and quite frankly boring. No build up and no excitment. Lucas you may want to consider retirement! You’re boring yourself and your audience to death!

Like a Twilight Zone Episode/Detective Novel

Excellent and interesting with an improbable storyline. A definite must if you liked Detective /Mystery/Twilight Zone episodes. Excellent story and performance. Highly recommended!
