Historia
Total F*cking Godhead is the complete story of the complex and enigmatic artist, Chris Cornell. It's the riveting account of a blue collar, high-school dropout emerging from Seattle, Washington, to become one of the greatest singer-songwriters and voices of his generation. With input from people who knew and worked with him - together with Cornell's own words - the book recounts in great detail the rise of his immortal band Soundgarden as they emerged from the 1980s post-punk underground to dominate popular culture in the '90s alongside other Seattle bands like Pearl Jam.

Should have listened to the reviews
Revisado: 03-26-23
It's a good book, but honestly likes others have said, it's nothing you can't already find elsewhere. Most of what I heard was quoting someone else's work. Kind of disappointing in that there isn't much "new" insight into Chris Cornell and what was going on with him.
I personally found the narrator's voice annoying but that could just be me, honestly.
If you want insight into someone you haven't followed for years - it's a good book to 'read' but if you are a long time Chris Cornell fan, you are not going to find too much of anything you don't already know.

The Irish enforcer for The Fallen Men MC is everything good girls are taught to stay away from. Only, I found myself inexorably drawn into his dark gravitational pull. I wanted to know what it would be like to walk beside the human personification of Death and hold his hand, feel his kiss, and maybe even earn his undying love. But Priest McKenna is older, cold as ice, and notoriously unfeeling.

Returning this title - I am over 2/3 through and just cannot finish it. The description sounded great, and the plot line intriguing. The inner monologues killed it for me. Especially Bea, That got to be so annoying after a while, I don't even care who the killer is now.

Historia
It starts like any other Monday for Ty Christianson. Fifty laps in his pool, a suave suit, a chat with his mum on the way to his office, dodging countless calls from women, and his faithful yet cynical assistant waiting for him with a coffee. Then a meeting with his business partner and life-long friend Sal upends everything. Sal's hired a new assistant without so much as consulting Ty. That's a cardinal sin in their world, but it's the least of Ty's worries. Sal hasn't just hired a new personal assistant, he's hired an absolute goddess - and she's off-limits to Ty.

Historia
Rose Cassidy doesn’t truly live; she just exists. Numbing herself to fear and pain is the only way she can survive in this cruel world. So when she’s taken as collateral by the notorious Danny Black in a deadly game of power, she’s thrown by the deep fear she feels rising within her. And, worse than fear, a profound desire. She’s heard tales of The Brit. He’s callous. Coldblooded. But no one ever said he was wickedly beautiful and darkly captivating.

Wow -Boy was I wrong in a GOOD way
Revisado: 10-27-21
I had been looking for my next read, and obviously wasn't paying attention to what category I was in. I bought this thinking I was getting some sort of crime novel. Oh I got more than a crime novel, and much more than a romance novel ( which honestly have never done anything for me ).
Thanks to Ms. Malpas I may need to rethink my view of this genre. This was a really good book, and Shane East could read the phone book to me as Danny Black and I would be happy - Great Narrator! So was Vanessa Edwin.
I liked the story, the way it was told from both sides, and how just when I thought it was over, discovered I had 5 more chapters to go - I went and got the Kindle book just to see if it was just as good in print as it was to listen to.

Historia
From the author of the Sunday Times best seller Cocaine Nights comes an unnerving tale of life in a modern tower block running out of control. Within the concealing walls of an elegant 40-storey tower block, the affluent tenants are hell-bent on an orgy of destruction. Cocktail parties degenerate into marauding attacks on 'enemy' floors, and the once-luxurious amenities become an arena for riots and technological mayhem.

Revisado: 02-14-21
I have been trying since September of last year to finish this book. Bizarre doesn't even begin to cover it. Tom Hiddleston was the ONLY good thing about this book. The story sounded interesting and I really tried, but I either missed something somewhere, or this is nothing but Lord of the Flies meets Crazy Ass Rich People. Just couldn't do it.

Cluttered
Revisado: 10-12-20
I am going to give this a second chance and listen to it again. But at the first listen I found it confusing to keep track of all the characters, At times I think that I am listening to one group and realize I am listening to another, and I certainly hope the parents were not supposed to evoke sympathy or empathy because they certainly didn't. I think about a third of the characters could have been reduced and the story wouldn't have seemed so cluttered.
But like I said I am going to give it another listen - maybe second go around it will track better.

Please Keep This Going
Revisado: 08-09-20
I first met Tom Stranger as a free listen and instantly fell in love.
This is probably one of the most fun, series ever. No one but Adam Baldwin should EVER narrate this story. He IS Tom Stranger Interdimensional Insurance Agent.
And after just leaving a job at an insurance agency it is now even funnier, especially Jimmy the Intern. This is not heavy thought provoking literature, this is just fun fodder for the mind and pure escapism. Enjoy it for what it is. Seen too many reviews that seem to be missing the point of just having fun with a story - suspend the "real" world (or this dimension at least) for a couple of hours and enjoy.

Was already a fan, but now.................
Revisado: 08-09-20
WOW - just WOW!!!! This is fabulous, I loved The Sandman stories to begin with, but hearing it has brought it to life in a way I never thought possible. Full Disclosure I have not finished it all yet --
James McAvoy is great as Morpheus no surprise there, but Kat Dennings and Michael Sheen?
I listened to the two sections featuring them in the beginning twice just to hear them again. Kat Dennings is absolutely PERFECT as Death. She sounds like the typical big sister to Dream, and you hear her heart when she takes her charges, while doing her job.
Michael Sheen, I could listen to him read the phone book in that voice - the most perfect voice for Lucifer in his element, I had my doubts when I saw it in the preview ads. But then to hear him? Tom Ellis may TV's Lucifer on Earth, but Michael Sheen is Neil Gaiman's true Lucifer, he is perfection. (Voice made all the more impressive by the fact that I had just introduced my third person to Good Omens on Prime the weekend before I started this)
All of the narration so far has been amazing. I cannot wait for the rest of this and have finally got some hours carved out of the day to do just that.

Going Back to the Paperbook
Revisado: 08-06-18
My husband is a HUGE Tim Dorsey fan, and I have tried and tried to start this series and thought that maybe the audio version would be easier. Maybe if someone else was narrating it would be different but I just still cannot get into this book. Don't get me wrong there are some funny parts, parts about FL that caused me to "hey! I know where that is" but I got 5 chapters in and just could not listen anymore. But there are so many people who love these books, it is probably just me.
