Emphasis on dummies

Great performance but almost nothing was about actually building a house. Out of 24 chapters, only 3 of them are about actually building a house. Almost all of the other 21 chapters are about how to make good choices regarding money, schedule and style. Please don’t try to build your own home from this book. Might be a good starting point if you are otherwise incapable of making good choices.

Stupid title.

The title is so absolutely obscene and childish. Why would anyone want to even consider listening to this tripe. As is obvious I have absolutely no respect for an undisciplined character. I helped my children, grandchildren and they helped my great grandchildren so from the oldest to the youngest none would lower their standards to a place where they would accept swear words in any book title as something worth looking into.

No downloadable PDF's for any of his references

I aced my Basic exam in Canada with 97% primarily because I listened to the first two books of this series, so I loved them. He makes the content interesting and easily memorable. My only issue is with this Extra book because he makes several references to images in some sort of printed material but there is no PDF included for download. That's very frustrating. He makes reference to places on the internet to by a printed copy with the images and there might be an online location, however, I listen to audiobooks while I'm in remote locations without access to the internet. I don't understand why he doesn't include a PDF with the audible purchase. It's really only a small percentage of the questions in the exam but that doesn't make it any less frustrating.

Like listening to a dictionary

He’s just reading a selection of questions and answers. He once in awhile will explain the answer but he almost never talks about the wrong answers and he often makes reference to printed material that doesn’t come with the book. All the acronyms and checklists need some sort of attached material to review.

My new favorite

I’m so glad I heard Sam Harris interview this guy. I bought this book when it first came out but lost it in my quickly growing queue of books to read/listen. I might have to re-listen a few times just to keep it fresh. Maybe make it an annual thing.

New insight to global politics

Much to learn but it’s difficult to determine his bias. I wish he would have been a bit more generous to his opponents because he seems to have an axe to grind but great insights regardless.

Brilliant

I enjoyed every minute right to the very end. Great insights. Many unique thoughts on history I’ve never considered previous to this book. I’ll be buying all books written by Thomas Sowell.

Great content but instructor drops words

The instructor doesn’t pronounce many of the last words in sentences. I can hear him mouth the words but in such a soft whisper that I have to listen multiple times to figure out the word. Otherwise it was great content that I haven’t seen or heard before.

Not as good as the originals

A creative audio for the price and I highly recommend it. I've listened 3 times and will likely listen a few more times. I especially enjoyed the stories with the breakdown of all the words used in the story. Other than that it is a long way short of the original Verbal Advantage series I have on cassette. Charles made every word seam like it was the best piece of trivia I ever learned and I wanted to tell everyone about it. He would also relate every word to all the synonyms and antonyms elsewhere in the series. This series does some of that but mostly blows through all the words without much of the extra effort that I'm used to from CHE. He would always complete the analysis of a word so that I felt like an expert on that word. In this series, I often find myself searching through the content to find the other words that relate. CHE did that for me and it was much more entertaining.
