Historia
In the spring of 2020, Lara’s three daughters return to the family's orchard in Northern Michigan. While picking cherries, they beg their mother to tell them the story of Peter Duke, a famous actor with whom she shared both a stage and a romance years before at a theater company called Tom Lake. As Lara recalls the past, her daughters examine their own lives and relationship with their mother, and are forced to reconsider the world and everything they thought they knew.

Nothing happens in this story - in the best possible way.
Revisado: 11-25-24
A book read by Meryl Streep with cherry blossoms and shiny lakes? Yes! This is the perfect book for when the world is in chaos and everything around us feels too big to handle. From the stability and safety of kind and nourishing family life during the pandemic, a mother tells her daughters a story about the past and about a man who was there for a moment and gone. It is a gentle story full of nostalgia. Nothing really happened in this book, and that was exactly what made it so lovely.

Sam and Sadie—two college friends, often in love, but never lovers—become creative partners in a dazzling and intricately imagined world of video game design, where success brings them fame, joy, tragedy, duplicity, and, ultimately, a kind of immortality. It is a love story, but not one you have heard before.

An intelligent and thought provoking
Revisado: 11-04-24
It has been a while since I enjoyed a book as much as I enjoyed Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow. The characters are complex and their internal world is compelling. The collision between them is based on the gaps between their self perception and the ways in which they are read by others. The various angles of the narrative offer nuanced understanding of the narrative. It is a great read.

I loved the story and appreciated the complexity of the characters. The glimpses into the psychology of the different characters were convincing. I appreciate the way the story was concluded and looking forward to the next book.

Historia
Danika Brown knows what she wants: professional success, academic renown, and an occasional roll in the hay to relieve all that career-driven tension. But romance? Been there, done that, burned the T-shirt. Romantic partners, whatever their gender, are a distraction at best and a drain at worst. So Dani asks the universe for the perfect friend-with-benefits - someone who knows the score and knows their way around the bedroom.

Historia
In 1972, when workers in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, were digging the foundations for a new development, the last thing they expected to find was a skeleton at the bottom of a well. Who the skeleton was and how it got there were two of the long-held secrets kept by the residents of Chicken Hill, the dilapidated neighborhood where immigrant Jews and African Americans lived side by side and shared ambitions and sorrows. Chicken Hill was where Moshe and Chona Ludlow lived when Moshe integrated his theater and where Chona ran the Heaven & Earth Grocery Store.

sad and beautiful

An intelligent and complex story. I loved the smart and thoughtful representation of disability. It is a story to laugh with and cry with, but mainly, to reflect through with care.

Religious preaching

Pretending to be on the verge of a fantasy book, this story is an exhausting preaching of Christian values. It is boring, shallow, and overall disappointing.

Historia
When his mother became President, Alex Claremont-Diaz was promptly cast as the American equivalent of a young royal. Handsome, charismatic, genius—his image is pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House. There's only one problem: Alex has a beef with the actual prince, Henry, across the pond. And when the tabloids get hold of a photo involving an Alex-Henry altercation, U.S./British relations take a turn for the worse.
