Historia
Death has been fired by the Auditors of Reality for the heinous crime of developing…a personality. Sent to live like everyone else, Death takes a new name and begins working as a farmhand. He's got the scythe already, after all. And for humanity, Death is just…gone. Which leads to the kind of chaos you always get when an important public service is withdrawn. If Death doesn't come for you, then what are you supposed to do in the meantime? You can't have the undead wandering about like lost souls—there's no telling what might happen.

Wonderful ending to a great story.

I don’t want to spoil anything, but just characters that are actually good and do good things having adventures and experiencing life and death. Funny and heartwarming. All the stars for Terry.

An amazing classic
Revisado: 08-15-24
I loved Stephen Fry reading one of my favorite books. Such a great story by Douglas Adams. Great dry humor and wit. Highly recommend.

It’s a romance novel
Revisado: 04-25-24
Meant to be exciting and racy but not engaging. Felt like adult romance novels do. Not my cup of tea.

Historia
Bolivian-Argentinian Inez Olivera belongs to the glittering upper society of nineteenth century Buenos Aires, and like the rest of the world, the town is steeped in old world magic that’s been largely left behind or forgotten. Inez has everything a girl might want, except for the one thing she yearns the most: her globetrotting parents—who frequently leave her behind.

Long winded
Revisado: 04-25-24
This is the most long winded book I’ve listened to in a while, and the female narrator wore on me. I got about a third of the way through and couldn’t finish. The author definitely paints a picture, but this just felt really long.

Great story, bad second narrator
Revisado: 11-06-23
Loved the story and male narrator. The female narrator was inconsistent with her accents and overly dramatic.

Having entertained the idea for years, and even offered a few questionable opportunities ("It's a piece of cake! Just do four hours of interviews, find someone else to write it, put your face on the cover, and voila!") I have decided to tell these stories just as I have always done, in my own voice.

Blown away
Revisado: 12-10-21
Masterful storytelling that utterly captured my brain and imagination. So uplifting and hopeful. The way the stories were told and his experiences made me feel connected to Dave Grohl, and I have a newfound appreciation and love for the man that created Foo Fighters and their music. He’s way more than that drummer from Nirvana, and I’m so happy to know more about his history and love of music. He seems like someone great to collaborate and hang out with. Brilliantly written and told. I’m about to start it over and listen again.

In the absolutely packed Act II, the dark fantasy resumes and the Sandman expands into the French Revolution, ancient Rome, 19th-century San Francisco, eighth-century Baghdad, and beyond. New and familiar characters abound, voiced by a bright mix of performers, including Kat Dennings, Regé-Jean Page, Emma Corrin, Michael Sheen, Kristen Schaal, Brian Cox, John Lithgow, Jeffrey Wright, and so many more, including fan-favorite narrators Simon Vance and Ray Porter.

Amazing and wonderful
Revisado: 10-15-21
I’ve waited for over a decade for something like this for Sandman. Act I was absolutely brilliant, so I couldn’t wait to listen to Act I. The cast is brilliant, and the performances really make the stories come to life. James McEvoy is perfect as Morpheus. So thankful for these stories and these performances! I’m going to have to go back and listen again. Thanks so much to all that participated in the creation of these stories.
