OMG Mattie - let it go!

Love Kevin Pierce as the narrator - always easy to listen too. But the story was another apocalyptic book with a so-so story. The main character Maddie was full of herself. By the end of the series, I got so sick of hearing her say that she needed to be in the middle of all decisions, NO, she didn't. Her father's military friends know what to do and what was best. The only saving grace was Kevin Pierce.

Great series Great listen

I have listened to all of the Texas books. This series is really good. I did have a question though. I understand an EMP took down the country's power grid and all electronics and that Texas had a hardened grid. But how does the death squad steel 70 new Ford pickup trucks from a dealership? Are they not venerable also? Other than that, this is a very well written series, and the narration was excellent. I will definitely listen to more Bobby Akart books and look for Sean Runnette to narrate.

The soothing sounds of Kevin Pierce

Nice stand alone novel. Good to hear Kevin Pierce narrate this story, he has the right voice for apocalyptic storytelling. The story was very good, good characters not a lot of cussing. It had a almost realistic quality to the story. Not all will survive but everyone is not a monster either.

Really great new take on the apocalypse.

I was down to one credit, so I choose a multi book series. I love Keven Pierce's narration and it was the reason I took this collection. Great new take on an apocalyptic tale. I like the writing and the story was very interesting. If you like these kinds of stories, it's definitely worth the use if a credit. I will listen to other books written by A.R. Shaw.

Crazy Plot Twist...Great Free Book

This was a great book. The story had amazing twists and turns. So glad I took this from the Plus catalogue. If you like mystery and intrigue this is a really good listen.

Great book with a strong female lead.

This book for me had a great story that worked up the apocalyptic events. The buildup makes the story more believable. Ava has a strong personality but had been hit with loss right in the beginning. Lots of strong characters. I said in another review that I was not crazy about a female narrator, but Stacey Glemboski hit this one out of the park. I love when they make them box sets and you get the flow of the story. Very good listen.

I love Mark Goodwin but this one fell flat

I have been consuming Mark's books and usually love them. This one fell a little flat for me. I do like a female lead but funny do not care for a female narrator. The story started out with all of Mark's finesse of using the Bible to push the story, but I do wish it had gotten a bit more into what had caused the collapse. The second and third books were in survival mode. The main character becomes a bad ass leader overnight and the boyfriend/husband takes a beating. Not one of my favorites but I will keep reading Mark's books.

WOW! Fantastic story line.

Again, WOW! Mark Goodwin hit it out of the park with this trilogy. I read a lot of reviews before using my last credit for the month and it was totally worth it. I know some of the reviews say that it's heavy in religion. But please don't be put off, I am a Christian and found it very enlightening to have references in the Bible that I can refer back too. The story was very relevant to today's news cycle.

Good second book. Nice extension to the series.

If you liked the Opus story you will like the next adventure in the story line. Of course, Kevin Pierce is the best narrator of these kind of stories. My only thought on the context of the story is that the villain knew them both (possible spoiler). I know it's a possibility, but the connection is a little farfetched for my taste. I loved that Mr. Craven used real world places like the prepper convention and meeting other real-world writers. I found it to be a nice nod to them. With so many apocalyptic books out there, I decided to pick an author and read (listen) to all of their books then move to another. I started with Mr. Craven and have not been disappointed.

It's okay. Not Much of a story

This free book was just ok. For the length I expected more. This could have been an exciting and different take on an apocalyptic tale. The characters fell flat along with the story.
