BORING
Revisado: 02-01-17
Perhaps there was some sort of hidden message, but I just thought the book was boring. The end was anticlimactic and kind of boring. Honestly I'm glad it's over so I can move on to a new book.

Really great book!
Revisado: 10-15-16
I like that this was a 'believable' futuristic book. The author was so descriptive of the futuristic gadgets that I could almost see them. The story line is a little confusing at first since you are trying to follow about 8 different main characters, I found myself multiple times thinking 'wait who is this about?' But I quickly caught on in about a minute or 2 of each chapter. From the very start of the book you know someone dies from falling off the top of the tower and it's very exciting / anxious waiting to see who it is. There are a LOT of story lines to follow but it's very cool seeing how they all tie in together. Overall I think this was a great book and I love that they leave you hanging at the end. I also think the lady reading the story did a great job!

I Couldn't Put It Down!
Revisado: 09-06-16
Any additional comments?
This book starts out as your very typical teenage "Mean Girl" read. In fact, it carries on that way for a few chapters. It is very entertaining and can definitely remind some people of their high school years - it doesn't matter if you were one of those "mean girls" or if you just remember them - it brings you back to high school. As the story evolves you start to learn more and more about the characters and why they are the way they are. It really teaches you to stop and take a minute to get to know people and their stories. The main plot revolves around one of the "mean girls" who is forced to re live the day she dies over and over again. Wondering what she would do on the next day really kept me on the edge of my seat. It was very entertaining and the lady reading the book did a great job imitating the different voices of each character. I cant wait until the movie comes out so I can see if the actors look anything like I imagine in my head. Overall I definitely recommend for older teens and adults alike. It teaches a great story and is a book I wont soon forget.

Surprised by How Much I liked This Book
Revisado: 09-01-16
Any additional comments?
As my headline says, I was very surprised with how much I ended up liking this book. When I realized it was based in 1999 I was kind of turned off and didn't want to read it. But when I realized that the characters were 28 years old (same age as I am now) I was able to put myself in their shows and kind of live through them, if that makes sense. The first chapter is kind of stupid, makes me think that the girls emailing each other are really immature and young. But very shortly after that, when they introduce Lincoln, I was sucked in almost immediately and couldn't put the book down. There are ups and downs, funny parts and parts that made me cry. I was able to relate to both of the girls at various points in the story and I was SO SO happy with the ending. Seriously I was smiling with goose bumps as I listened to the last 2 chapters during my commute to work this morning. Yes, it is slightly predictable, but Rowell does a great job at throwing some major curve balls into the plot. I'm so sad that I only have 1 more of Rowell's books left to read. I hope that this author writes more because I am obsessed with everything written by her (him?).

Good, But a Little Dark
Revisado: 05-24-16
Any additional comments?
After being bullied on Social Media, I downloaded this book per a recommendation of a fellow YouTube blogger. It is a little dark and a little difficult to read at times, but overall it is a good book. It is definitely meant for the younger generations as the writing itself is very "young". But it definitely makes you start to think that anything and everything you do in your daily life can and will impact someone. You never know what someone is going through and that reminds me to always smile when I look someone in the eyes. I gave it 4 stars because I think that the story itself can put off the wrong message if you read into it too deeply and start thinking about suicide, but, the overall message that I took from it is a good one. I think this would make a great movie someday!

Not for Me
Revisado: 05-24-16
Any additional comments?
I tried several time to listen to this book, and I just cant get past the first few chapters. I was recommended this book by a co worker who raved about it, and I just found it a bit boring. I think it would be great if you have kids and or if you are a serious dog lover. But for me, it was just "eh". I'll keep it in my library and if I get REALLY bored one day, maybe I'll start listening to it again, but for now its a "No".

Historia
The first thing Sophia Amoruso sold online wasn’t fashion - it was a stolen book. She spent her teens hitchhiking, committing petty theft, and dumpster diving. By twenty-two, she had resigned herself to employment, but was still broke, directionless, and working a mediocre day job she’d taken for the health insurance. It was there that Sophia decided to start selling vintage clothes on eBay. Eight years later, she is the founder, CEO, and creative director of Nasty Gal, a $100 million plus online fashion retailer with more than 350 employees.

If you want to feel like a Bad A** B****, READ THIS BOOK! Seriously it is so empowering and exciting! To hear the story of how someone went from a little "nothing" selling used items on Ebay, to this multi million dollar company... it just inspires me to be something so much better. I listened to this while starting up my YouTube channel and it has given me so much hope. It is also filled with great tips and trick on starting up your own company! Highly recommend!

Very Interesting!
Revisado: 05-24-16
Any additional comments?
First off, I HATED the narration. The lady's voice is terrible and I couldn't stand it. However, the story was so interesting that I had to finish the book. I am a dedicated Bachelor/Bachelorette fan that I have always wondered what happened behind the scenes and before/after the show aired. I was very surprised at some of the information that she disclosed and wondered to myself how she got away with putting it in her book! She is also from Arizona (as am I) so it was pretty cool to relate to some of the locations and hot spots that she talked about. I read it in just a couple of days and highly recommend it to anyone who is a Bachelor TV show fan.

I LOVED This Book
Revisado: 05-24-16
Any additional comments?
I downloaded this book based off of a YouTube recommendation and I was a little worried that I was too old to enjoy it (I am 28), but it actually fell in love with the characters and the story line. It is a bit dark and in a way it could be seen as "glamorizing" teen suicide. BUT, I think it is more about understanding the impact you have on other people's lives. It is very relatable to my teen years, even though I thankfully didn't suffer a loss in the family or ever think about suicide. The love story between the two main characters brings me back to my first 'love' and I couldn't stop reading it to find out what happened. The last few chapters really took me by surprise, but that is one of the things that makes the book so impactful. I definitely suggest and recommend this book to late teens, early twenties!

Definitely made me think
Revisado: 05-24-16
Any additional comments?
This book definitely made me think about the possible afterlife and made me start to question some of the little things I do day-to-day. However, it wasn't life altering or amazing. There were parts that I zoned out and stopped listening because I just didn't care. I read this off of a recommendation form someone I follow on YouTube and I am kind of sad that I wasted a credit on it. I think this would be a great find for someone who recently suffered from a loss and wants comfort that there is life after death.
