I love Abe. This book had a great conclusion to the adventures of Rose and Dimitri. I doubt it will actually be the last but hopefully with Lissa's new responsibilities they won't be able to get into too much trouble. I feel bad for Adrian though, even if what Rose said is true I had hiped she would speak with him before she moved on her feelings. But I guess that is what makes Rose relatable; she's flawed and makes mistakes and hurts those she loves without meaning to.

Really liked the music for the last bits!

I like Ms. Hvam's narratuon better than the first. she puts different intonations for different characters and puts whatever needed attitudes in as well. Well paced speaking and hardly any mispronounced words. i noticed dhampire was said two different ways but aside from that it was great.

Unit I of Pimsleur Learning for Norwegian

This self-study audiobook was actually helpful! I may not have the pronunciations right but I can tell you how to say every part of the conversation in Norwegian. I think the Pimsleur learning technique works because it will surprise you with something random after having focused on a new segment (in this case "I understand a little bit of Norwegian" then a quick slide back to "Excuse me"). The only thing I would ask be improved upon is the pronunciation of each word. I still cannot pronounce the Norwegian word for English. I'm trying but I can't seem to pin point how it is pronounced exactly. Maybe if I run through it a few more times I will get the hang of it but for just hearing this lesson once I have remembered a lot.
Highly recommended if you're trying to passably learn a foreign language.

Would you listen to A Game of Thrones again? Why?

No. Roy Dotrice has a unique voice and while I appreciate the effort to make each character have his or her own voice, many of those voices I just cannot stand. Khal Drogo for example sounds like a terribly old man when Dotrice narrates his parts. I was getting by with the other voices but I drew the line there. I just couldn't continue after that.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Game of Thrones?

The most memorable part of A Game of Thrones for me was Arya sending off her direwolf Nymeria and Sansa's loss of Lady. Losing Lady must have been absolutely heartbreaking but forcibly making your companion leave for their own saftey is somewhat harder. I was shocked that Lord Eddard Stark accepted the terms that King Robert put forth. I know he's all about duty but I was still shocked when he did the deed.

Would you be willing to try another one of Roy Dotrice’s performances?

No.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I think the most moving part of this book is between Jon Snow and Arya Stark. They're both the odd ones out in the family; Jon because he is a bastard and Arya because she refuses the confinments of her gender and station in society. Their bond goes even further because they are the only "son" and daughter of Eddard Stark that look like him rather than their mothers. (No I do not buy that Jon is Ned's son. I do not believe it.) Anyway, their scene of saying good-bye always makes me so very sad.

Any additional comments?

Read the book, ditch the audio. I think you get so much more by reading it anyways.

If you could sum up Wild Magic in three words, what would they be?

Humorous, fast, imaginative.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I've read this series multiple times and I still feel that both Onua and Alanna are under appreciated characters. They're both very funny and they're both strong female characters. Onua was mostly in the beginning but in this book she is my favorite character due to her no nonesense attitude about work but, after lunch, she's pretty easy going and jokes around.

What does Tamora Pierce bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Pronounciations of a lot of the names. Most every person I know who has read the books just kinda glazed over Numair's last name and many of the stormwings. Unfortunately Pierce read rather slowly and sort of monotone so that threw off the flow. The lively manner that Full Cast Audio performed the characters made up for it thankfully.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and I was able to at work.

Revisado: 09-19-14

Would you listen to Graceling again? Why?

Yes. I love that this book has action and romance but focuses mostly on the action. The two main characters are both rather amusing in their own ways and their interactions are typically humorous. The two main characters have graces; a certain skill inborn in them. All graceling's eyes are two different colors and very striking. Its not exactly a good thing to be a graceling in all but one kingdom.
After shaking her King uncle's power off her, graceling Katsa leaves with another graceling, Prince Po (Prince to a different kingdom) and together they search for the truth to who kidnapped Prince Po's grandfather and in the process uncover an even bigger problem. Katsa and Po find Po's young cousin Bitterblue and they are separated after Po falls injured. Katsa and Bitterblue leave him, not knowing if he'll recover but Katsa knows she must keep his cousin alive.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Po. I adore Po because his easy going manner irritates Katsa to no end and he knows it and relishes the fact. He can be serious but he'd rather shake off other people's ill behaviour/moods and just enjoy the beauty of the world.

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Full Cast Audio is one of my favorite companies to listen to. Unfortunately they don't have too many other books I would be interested in. Thankfully they also perform The Immortals series by Tamora Pierce and I very much enjoy those books!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did want to listen to it in one sitting and I came close to being able to; I travel and hour to work, work for eight hours and then another hour back home so I got a good 10 hours in one day. Its probably a better idea to separate it into two six hour windows if you can.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would reccommend it simply because it is a great book and the narration is clear and understandable set with an easy pace.

What did you like best about this story?

I just love Rose's sarcasm. All throughout the series her sarcasm makes me smile. I also enjoyed the character development that Lissa goes through; before she was weak and selfish. In this installment to the series she did something for Rose of her own will even after Rose told her not to because she knew Rose needed it. I think their friendship progressed to a more balanced relationship rather than the one sided relationshp it had seemed to be for a while.

Which scene was your favorite?

Not really a scene but within the first couple of pages Rose reads a letter from Dimitri. That letter made me laugh so hard. Probably my favorite part of this book aside from the ending result with Dimitri.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Mikhail's involvement in getting Rose, Lissa and Eddie out of Court was heart breaking. He let Rose go because of the similarities they shared concerning their now Strigoi loved ones. Later, Mikhail says he knew Spirit makes the user's more alluring but he swore she didn't need it, she was beautiful on his own.
It has been years for their love to possibly fade yet he is still as in love with her as ever, enough to let Rose get away with what she did. Mikhail is a favorite character of mine now.

Any additional comments?

I didn't think for the first half Emily Shaffer was adequatley representing Rose's attitude, particularly the sarcasm. The latter half was better in tune with Rose's character. Her voices for many of the side characters seemed the same and too loud, as if they were talking across a room rather than to someone near them.
Emily Shaffer did really well with Lissa's voice, however.

Where does Vampire Academy rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is my first audiobook and so far I like it.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Vampire Academy?

One of my favorite parts (because I love humor) is where Rose calls Dimitri "cheap foreign labor".

Which character – as performed by Stephanie Wolf – was your favorite?

Dimitri Belikov.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I love romance books, especially the books where "no, we can't be together for (insert reason here)" and they still love each other regardless so I was close to tears with that bit.

Any additional comments?

I love that Stephanie Wolf used different voices for each character, this is my first audiobook and I hadn't been expecting that.
