I could not stay with the story. It moved far too slow for me to stay involved. Too many characters over a long timespan

Love the Characters, but…
Revisado: 10-15-22
I am a huge fan of this series and JKR/RG is clearly one of the finest writers of our time. But I am compelled to note that many prolific artists get caught up at times in brandishing their virtuoso chops. And like some jazz players, guitar gods and technical pianists, I felt JKR’s obsession with social media hashtags flew off the rails of good taste very early in the story, and midway through I had to repeatedly hit the 30 seconds forward button just to keep from exiting the audiobook. In a word, this became painful.
Other than that glaring miscalculation on the part of the author and his/her editors, the book was deftly plotted, intricately detailed and somewhat satisfying.

What a bait and switch
Revisado: 05-04-20
Wow, what a bait and switch. To go from Camino Island and a manuscript focused on stealing rare books to a common police procedural thriller is a letdown of epic proportions. No Mercer Mann. No sex. No intrigue.
Just a boring hack with guys talking about why a minor character was killed.
Come on. !!
Nothing to satisfy the readers of Camino Island.
Only 8 hours makes it seem like a fast regurgitation to make a buck.
I met John on the set of The Firm covering that film for American Cinematographer.
I have always been a Grisham fan. But this piece... What a disappointment.
And the narrator: the horrible southern dialect is very difficult to listen to.
I'm out of words
The audiobook seems like a hack job to make a few bucks from fans of the original theft-caper.
Come man on !!! What the F are you thinking?

Historia
The school cultural festival trope has finally come. The group is out to have fun, eat, and compete in the activities. It’s a shame that it cannot be easy for Clyde. From winning the festival just to protect Noona from perverts, to facing off with someone’s evil mother. Oh...did we forget to mention the crusader champion’s arrival, the Wind’s arrival, also Dark. Ladies and gentlemen: We’ve got a clusterfuck day.

Revisado: 09-21-19
I can’t wait until the next one if you have listened to the story so far you will know what you are getting into but if you’re new here wanting to know if you should listen to the book it’s a definite yes any anime fan would appreciate it but anyone would like the story it’s interesting the characters are wild and there’s about as many anime jokes as you can think of.

Historia
Betrayal cuts deepest when someone you love wields the knife. For Kellik, a once-rising star of Port Gloom's guild of thieves, it also leaves him floating in the bay, bleeding out and without hope or allies. Saved by an urchin and healed by a disgraced saint, Kellick is consumed by a single desire: to find out why his guild master ordered him cut down moments after passing his initiation trial. Burning with injustice, Kellik recruits a number of gorgeous rogues to his side: fallen assassins, dark elf witches, and unnervingly polite necromancers.

A late comer to the series
Revisado: 05-05-17
Just finished the Thrawn series. I have to say this is one of the most rewarding entertainment experiences I've ever had. Zahn is a master. The characters are now a part of my friends and family. And every deep yearning created by the storyteller was satisfied by the ending. All but one. For the series and the characters to go on forever.

Historia
A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of very curious photographs. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets 16-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.
