I love this series
Revisado: 01-13-25
This is a great series and I enjoy it a lot. My only problem with this book is how distracting it was in part of it when I could hear the narrator take a sip of drink and turn pages. It wasn't throughout the whole book, but still distracting.

Historia
Sam Hill always saw the world through different eyes. Born with red pupils, he was called “Devil Boy” or Sam “Hell” by his classmates; “God’s will” is what his mother called his ocular albinism. Her words were of little comfort, but Sam persevered. Sam believed it was God who sent Ernie Cantwell, the only African American kid in his class, to be the friend he so desperately needed. And that it was God’s idea for Mickie Kennedy to storm into Our Lady of Mercy like a tornado, uprooting every rule Sam had been taught about boys and girls. Forty years later, Sam, a small-town eye doctor, is no longer certain anything was by design.

I am so glad I trusted the reviews of this book
Revisado: 01-26-24
Yes there is religion in this book, but it is not heavy handed. It feels totally natural with the characters upbringing and circumstances. Robert Dugoni's narration is exceptional and breaths authenticity into Sam Hill. I was able to immerse myself into the story from the first pages. This is the first book I have read by Robert Dragoni, but will not be the last.

Historia
On the first day of her new job, Harris is called to the scene of a brutal murder at the heart of Surrey society. A shocking crime, with a meticulous killer: the victim’s eyes have been removed and the body drained of blood, with no forensic evidence left at the scene. Her boss insists it must be the return of a killer who escaped justice several years ago, leaving a trail of bloody ritualistic killings. Harris isn’t so sure: both sets of victims have had their eyes removed, but other details are significantly different.

Carl Goodman really knows how to create a seat of your pants thrilling story. Louise Brealey does a phenomenal job bringing this story to life. I now get to jump into the second book in this series and hope there will be more to come. Thank you Audible for having books of this caliber in your Audible Plus catalog.

Paint your toes. Pick up the wrong coffee and bagel order. Drive from Brooklyn to Jersey in traffic so slow you want to tear your hair out. It’s amazing all the useless things I can accomplish while on hold for three hours with customer service. Three hours when I should be getting the Date-in-a-Box website ready to launch at the big business expo in a few days. Except my shiny new website is glitching, and my inner rage-monster is ready to scorch some earth...when he finally picks up. Not the robot voice I expected but a real live human named Kal.

Revisado: 12-31-22
Great short book or novella. Voice actors were perfect for the characters and writing was very engaging. I loved it and so glad I tried it since I have been disappointed with other Audible plus selections.

Very satisfying read
Revisado: 09-24-22
I was cautiously optimistic that I would like this book after reading the reviews. I really like Gemma Rogers ability to create 3 dimensional characters that you grow to care about. Georgia Maguire's narration was excellent too. I have been trying many of the books available for free on Audible and have been deleting many of them after less than 10 minutes. I am thrilled to find an author who is creative and good at developing a story and characters. I will be reading more by this author and probably purchasing some of hers too.

Billy Connolly is the real deal. A unique and very talented comedian and it is lovely to hear him narrate his autobiography. It is so delightful to hear him giggle while telling a joke. Thank you Billy for this little peek into how you became the man you are. May you continue your journey with your wonderful family long into the future.
