Historia
This is the little book that started a revolution, making women's voices heard, in their own right and with their own integrity, for virtually the first time in social scientific theorizing about women. Its impact was immediate and continues to this day, in the academic world and beyond. Translated into 16 languages, with more than 700,000 copies sold around the world, In a Different Voice has inspired new research, new educational initiatives, and political debate.

Great book, uncomfortable narration
Revisado: 01-06-25
This is a masterpiece in women’s study and psychology. Unfortunately the book is narrated as if it was read in the nighttime news, with very heavy punctuations and weird pauses that is very uncomfortable to follow along.

Historia
What causes a gifted child to be emotionally driven and highly empathetic? How come an intelligent person is typically self-motivated and self-disciplined to the extreme? The explanation lies in the fact that gifted people make a lot of connections in their brains. These connotations from interrelated facts and observations cause them to become both dramatic and extremely excited about occurrences in life, depending on what it is.

Featured on Oprah and Sally Jesse Raphael, this definitive look at the dynamics of male-female communication gets to the heart of the all-too-common phenomenon: women who are ready and willing to commit, and men who back off just as the relationship moves toward the next level. This book can help you recognize early warning signs of the commitmentphobic man and avoid unnecessary stress and heartache.

Historia
Waking the Tiger offers a new and hopeful vision of trauma. It views the human animal as a unique being, endowed with an instinctual capacity. It asks and answers an intriguing question: Why are animals in the wild, though threatened routinely, rarely traumatized? By understanding the dynamics that make wild animals virtually immune to traumatic symptoms, the mystery of human trauma is revealed.

The narration is unbearable!
Revisado: 02-22-19
This is a great book, it's been recommended by experts but the narration totally destroys the experience of reading. It's not just too slow (and adjusting the speed won't fix it), but the tone is so old school and condescending it's almost offensive. I couldn't go beyond the first minutes.
