Historia
An actor is brutally murdered while sitting alone in his fully locked car. A note arrives claiming responsibility and explaining the man died not for who he was, but for who he pretended to be. He played Dr. Watson in a production of Sherlock Holmes. The note promises to kill everybody in Hollywood currently playing Dr. Watson: a surprisingly long list.

Amazing narration with an OK story and some virtue signaling thrown in the mix.

Soooo funny!
Revisado: 12-03-22
I might have enjoyed this sequel even more than the first book. It was hard not to laugh out loud or grin like a crazy person while I listened to this in public spaces.
Daniels’ did the voices a little different in this one vs the first book. It was still a great narration, but it took a little time to get used to. It doesn’t help that I had listened to the first book several times and had some preconceptions about how the characters sound, so that’s on me.

Every person on the planet wants their life to mean something. The problem is that you’ve been told there’s only one way to find that meaning. In Unfollow Your Passion, Terri Trespicio - whose TEDx talk has more than six million views - questions everything you think you need: passion (fun, but fleeting), plans (flimsy at best), and a bucket list (eye roll), to name a few.

Great from start to finish
Revisado: 07-14-22
This book was great. It has an impressive amount of both depth and breadth on the subject of really evaluating your intentions, goals, etc. It was full of useful ideas and insights from start to finish.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Good Good Good
Revisado: 05-07-21
I have to admit that when I read the summary of this book and saw that amnesia was going to be part of the plot I groaned a little. I always hate that as a plot device, but this book totally did it right. Normally it is a way to get around bad writing, but this book used it as a tool make the whole story just so beautiful.
This book has everything I love about sci-fi. I won’t go into the details. I’ll just say I laughed a lot, teared up a time or two, and enjoyed every bit of it.
Oh, and the narration was fantastic! But, I knew that would be the case without even listening to it. I’m a big fan of Ray Porter.

Historia
Civil war looms in the Bobiverse in this brand-new, epic-length adventure by Audible number one best seller Dennis E. Taylor. More than a hundred years ago, Bender set out for the stars and was never heard from again. There has been no trace of him despite numerous searches by his clone-mates. Now Bob is determined to organize an expedition to learn Bender’s fate - whatever the cost. But nothing is ever simple in the Bobiverse. Bob’s descendants are out to the 24th generation now, and replicative drift has produced individuals who can barely be considered Bobs anymore.

A pleasant surprise
Revisado: 10-31-20
I was hoping that this series would continue, but didn’t expect it after the nice tidy way the series went after book 3. I was so happy to discover that this book existed.
Overall I enjoyed it a lot. It was not my favorite of the series but I’ll certainly listen to it a few more times, just like I had with the others.

Historia
If the story doesn’t end with marriage or a child, what then? This question plagued Glynnis MacNicol on the eve of her 40th birthday. Despite a successful career as a writer, and an exciting life in New York City, Glynnis was constantly reminded she had neither of the things the world expected of a woman her age: a partner or a baby. She knew she was supposed to feel bad about this. After all, single women and those without children are often seen as objects of pity. Glynnis refused to be cast into either of those roles and yet the question remained: What now?

Not quite what I expected.
Revisado: 07-13-18
There is a lot I liked about this book. MacNicol really reveals a lot about her thoughts/worries about things we all struggle with but don’t often discuss. I really appreciated some of the personal moments that she shared.
However, there are also a lot of times that the book would lose my attention. I sometimes had a hard time following the order of events as the book isn’t quite chronological. Also, there are times when she would go into great detail about things and I don’t quite know why. It feels like there is a lot of filler, but maybe I just missed the bigger picture.
Overall, I found it interesting. It is a good story about a woman figuring out what she really wants in life. I’m just not convinced that she has it all worked out yet. I’d like to hear an update later in her life.
I should also add that the narration was great. The whole audiobook was delivered like a casual conversation with just the right emotional inflection.

Historia
Cent can teleport. So can her parents, but they are the only people in the world who can. This is not as great as you might think it would be - sure, you can go shopping in Japan and then have tea in London, but it's hard to keep a secret like that. And there are people, dangerous people, who work for governments and have guns, who want to make you do just this one thing for them. And when you're a teenage girl things get even more complicated. High school. Boys. Global climate change, refugees, and genocide. Orbital mechanics.

Liked this book far more than I had realized.
Revisado: 02-17-16
I am a big fan of the jumper series. I like how how much depth there is in the teleporting characters and the lives they lead. The science behind it is a good geeky part of it too. I had read a few reviews about this book being overall good, but a little slow and boring at times. When I first listened to this book I really liked it, but kinda agreed with others that it could be a little heavy on the little details. It is certainly a good story for a space geek.
But you know what? A few times now I have found myself going back through my now pretty large Audible library and listening to it again. There is just so much I appreciate about it. I love all the little details. The slow bits just make me like the "science" of it even more. What is really fun is that the only syfi element of it is the teleporting. All the rest is the world we live in, more or less. But still, things get pretty wild in this story.
I might even say it is my favorite book in the series. But it is a tough call to make, they are just all so awesome. I sure hope there is a sequel. The series could really get crazy from here on.
