Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

What a whirlwind adventure!
Revisado: 06-03-20
This book is so much more than I was expecting. Learning history through the experiences of someone who lived it was fascinating and enlightening! My perspective on so many topics have been changed, and I feel as though I am a better person for it. Along the way I have had many laughs a few tears and several jaw clenching moments. There are several life lessons skillfully delivered by Trevor Noah’s great narrating voice. He is a joy to listen to.

Historia
After years of bullying and cajoling others as a high-flying public relations boss, Agatha Raisin’s early retirement to the picture-postcard village of Carsley in the Cotswolds is a dream come true. And how better to begin making herself a local leading light than by entering the village quiche-making competition? Unburdened by old-fashioned ideas of fair play, the ruthless Agatha decides to ensure she wins by buying her entry from a London delicatessen.

Bad girl, Bad girl, what you gonna do?
Revisado: 02-21-19
Agatha Raisin is so unlikable that you can't help but love her! I love this book series, the mysteries are well developed and the protagonist is so vibrant that you can't help but love her despite her many faults. I do not enjoy Penelope Keith's narration preferring instead Davina Porter's vastly superior renditions.

Historia
The world will end on Saturday. Next Saturday. Just before dinner, according to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655. The armies of Good and Evil are amassing and everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except that a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture. And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist.

SINFULLY good!
Revisado: 02-21-19
I love Neil Gaiman and this collaboration between him and Terry Pratchett is absolutely delightful. I loved this story and Martin Jarvis's portrayal of the characters is so brilliant that I found myself loving them even more. I immediately told my daughter to purchase this, and we both agree that this title is not just good, it's SINFULLY good.

J.K Rowling has grown up!
Revisado: 02-21-19
I love this Cormoran Strike series and J.K Rowling, using the pseudonym Robert Galbraith, has proven that she can write as for adult audience just as well as she can for an adolescent one. I have read some reviews blasting Robert Glenister's narration, but I think it's perfect. His voice has brought Strike to life and I cannot imagine him sounding any other way. Additionally, the mysteries are very well written.

Historia
A 39-year-old with Asperger’s syndrome and obsessive-compulsive disorder, Edward Stanton lives alone on a rigid schedule in the Montana town where he grew up. His carefully constructed routine includes tracking his most common waking time (7:38 a.m.), refusing to start his therapy sessions even a minute before the appointed hour (10:00 a.m.), and watching one episode of the 1960s cop show Dragnet each night (10:00 p.m.). But when a single mother and her nine-year-old son move in across the street, Edward’s timetable comes undone....

Sweet tale that often had me laughing out loud
Revisado: 02-21-19
I really enjoyed this book. The first little bit had protagonist Edward detailing his eccentric behaviors which had me feeling that this was not going to be a book for me. But I was so wrong and I am so glad that I continued listening. Luke Daniels does an excellent job of bringing this tale to life and his rendering had me fully engaged and often laughing out loud. Sweet and touching tale.

Historia
Auckland Island is a godforsaken place in the middle of the Southern Ocean, 285 miles south of New Zealand. With year-round freezing rain and howling winds, it is one of the most forbidding places in the world. To be shipwrecked there means almost certain death. In 1864, Captain Thomas Musgrave and his crew of four aboard the schooner Grafton wreck on the southern end of the island. Utterly alone in a dense coastal forest, plagued by stinging blowflies and relentless rain, Captain Musgrave inspires his men to take action.

Harrowing and absorbing
Revisado: 02-21-19
I love history so this book appeals to me. I have read several reviews bashing the narrator David Colacci, but I felt that he did an admirable job with the material provided. Complaints were that Mr. Colacci was dry, but this is a historical account, not a tale of fiction. Personally, I found his voice pleasant and on point for the dialogue. I enjoyed this account and was thinking about it in-between readings, and long after I had finished.

Historia
Returning to the territory he so brilliantly explored in his masterful New York Times best seller American Gods, the incomparable Neil Gaiman offers up a work of dazzling ingenuity, a kaleidoscopic journey deep into myth that is at once startling, terrifying, exhilarating, and fiercely funny, a true wonder of a novel that confirms Stephen King's glowing assessment of the author as "a treasure house of story, and we are lucky to have him."

As fun as a brass band parade!
Revisado: 02-21-19
I LOVED this book and the audio version made it all the better! I felt transported to a time and place where handkerchiefs and parasols are waving in the air and a brass band is blaring. Lenny Henry is a brilliant narrator and I could not have loved this more. If you are a Neil Gaiman fan, you do not want to miss out on this title.

Carolyn's not so different from the other human beings around her. After all, she was a normal American herself once. That was a long time ago, of course - before the time she calls "adoption day", when she and a dozen other children found themselves being raised by a man they learned to call Father.

Voice like nails on a chalkboard
Revisado: 02-20-19
My brother and I both read this title. He LOVED it while I only finished it at his request. The first half of this title dragged on and spent entirely to much time on one scenario. The last half did pick up, however, it was too late in the coming for me. Overall the concept of this tale is intriguing, but not that well executed. The narrator Hillary Huber's voice grated on me like nails scraping down a chalkboard. I realize that this is a personal preference, so I suggest that potential buyers listen to the sample to come to their own conclusions regarding the narrator's voice.

Bueller?
Revisado: 02-20-19
I love history, and that being said, I feel that in this instance, the reader would do better to have a hard copy versus an audio edition of this title. It reads like a laundry list of facts and is as dry as Ferris Bueller's teacher. I felt transported to my hard wooden desk at school on exam day. UGH!

Carry me Away!
Revisado: 02-20-19
The No. 1 Ladies Detective series is wonderful. The narration by Lisette Lecat is spot on and Alexander McCall Smith's characters are rich and lovable. While the mysteries are clever, the stories themselves are often simple, as are the problems the characters face. I loved this series. It is a pleasurable escape and the lush descriptions of Botswana can really carry the reader away.
