Wonderful read!
Revisado: 08-16-24
I recently discovered Abby Jimenez and have been devouring her books. Each one has been really different from the last and I love them all. This one had quite a different storyline with complex characters and unpredictable plot twists. And the readers are so fantastic!

Historia
Iris Nightingale is more than okay. She has her life planned out to a perfect schedule. Work, run, sleep, repeat. She spends her quiet Friday nights sitting alone on a bench in the park, trying to push back the memories that no amount of running can help her escape. But one evening, there’s someone else on her bench - Hunter. Tall, wry and infuriating: everything about him gets under Iris’s skin. Little does she know that he's about to upset more than just her routines...

Historia
Daphne always loved the way her fiancé Peter told their story. How they met (on a blustery day), fell in love (over an errant hat), and moved back to his lakeside hometown to begin their life together. He really was good at telling it…right up until the moment he realized he was actually in love with his childhood best friend Petra. Which is how Daphne begins her new story.

Laugh out loud funny
Revisado: 05-17-24
I LOVE Emily Henry's books and pre-ordered this one ad soon as I could, and anxiously awaited it's arrival. It did not disappoint!
It had me laughing out loud ( and looking rather foolish, since I had earbuds in) several times, and surprised at other times. The story was not at all predictable in the way it got to end result. As for Julia Whalen, her reading made the characters come alive.
Thank you, Emily and Julia.
I can't wait for the next book. May I suggest a story about Ashley or Julia finding love?

Couldn't listen to the narrator anymore.
Revisado: 03-20-24
I love Mandy Baggot's books and have listened to most of them with no issues. But this one, I just couldn't listen to the narrator's sttempt at an American accent any longer. EVERY American sounded like they were members of the mafia in New York! Hopefully, Audio will give me my money back and I will read the book, myself on Kindle.

Had to stop listening. The narrator ruined the experience!
Revisado: 01-13-24
I was REALLY looking forward to listening to this book while I drove 12 hrs home for Christmas because I have enjoyed all the other books in this series. But, I could not deal with the narrator's terrible attempt at a man's Australian accent! It was so off-putting that I had to stop listening. I'll just read the book instead. Bummer

Historia
They say you can never go home again, and for Persephone Fraser, ever since she made the biggest mistake of her life a decade ago, that has felt too true. Instead of glittering summers on the lakeshore of her childhood, she spends them in a stylish apartment in the city, going out with friends, and keeping everyone a safe distance from her heart. Until she receives the call that sends her racing back to Barry’s Bay and into the orbit of Sam Florek—the man she never thought she’d have to live without.

I could feel all they were feeling
Revisado: 11-11-23
I loved the story. I got so into it felt like I was going through everything Percy was going through and I would find myself tearing up in The middle of the day. wondering why I was so sad. It takes an amazing author and amazing narrator to make such a powerful story come to life.
I read Meet Me At The Lake first but loved this one so much more! Personally, I would much rather see this one become a movie over Meet Me at the Lake. I can't wait for all the novels in the future written by Carley Fortune! Bravo, Carley!!!

His name is Matthew Walker, and he's come to spend the summer on the Cape with his parents. Why? Well, he wants to meet you before he heads off to college in the fall. Another great combo from Kristan and Xe!
Revisado: 06-17-23
I love Kristan Higgens and, through listening to her books here on Audible, have discovered the wonderful world of Xe Sands bringing Kristan's characters to life!
They aret THE BEST COMBO!
I only gave the performance 4 stars because the reader who read Cynthia's chapters was jarring every time she read, and it took me away from the story. ( I even fast forwarded the first few chapters read by her because I disliked her voice so much.)
As usual, Kristan's story had me laughing and crying throughout.
Keep them coming, Kristan! And please have Xe Sands always be your reader!

Liked that it was unpredictable

It was refreshing to hear a story with an unpredictable ending. My only problem with it was the readers over the top accents. For me, that ruined the experience.
