Historia
Joe Goldberg is ready for a change. Instead of selling books, he’s writing them. And he’s off to a good start. Glenn Shoddy, an acclaimed literary author, recognizes Joe’s genius and invites him to join a tight-knit writing fellowship at Harvard. Finally, Joe will be in a place where talent matters more than pedigree . . . where intellect is the great equalizer and anything is possible. Even happy endings. Or so he thinks, until he meets his already-published, already-distinguished peers, who all seem to be cut from the same elitist cloth.

Loved it! Five stars!
Revisado: 05-09-23
This was my favorite of all the You sequels. I think Joe belongs on the East coast. He seems older and wiser (he is!) and I loved his stint as a writer. Wonder wasn’t my favorite of the heroines (Team Beck), but I loved this even deeper Joe. Kepnes is so clever, creative and always current. I love how she pokes the bear of whatever the setting/subject. There are no words complimentary enough for Santino’s performance. One forgets she is not listening to cast of characters— especially SB! This is the best author/narrator pairing in the business. Bravo!!

Historia
Carrie Soto is fierce, and her determination to win at any cost has not made her popular. But by the time she retires from tennis, she is the best player the world has ever seen. She has shattered every record and claimed twenty Grand Slam titles. And if you ask Carrie, she is entitled to every one. She sacrificed nearly everything to become the best, with her father, Javier, as her coach. A former champion himself, Javier has trained her since the age of two.

My Favorite TJR
Revisado: 11-07-22
This is a sequel which has next to nothing to do with the first book, other than a passing mention of a character. Meaning you absolutely do not have to have read Malibu Rising to enjoy this story. Besides a great character story, this book has a thrilling who done it, or should I say “who won it” aspect to it. It’s kind of like reading a thriller— when you just want to know what is going to happen so badly. It is well written and beautifully narrated. When the heroine voices her father, it is so tender and realistic. I am not a tennis fan but still found this book so compelling. I wanted to know what happened, but didn’t want it to end.

Revisado: 06-11-22
This book is entirely character driven and the narration is so wonderful, it felt like I was listening to a one woman show. Upon finishing, I wanted to meet the narrator at the stage door and take her to have drinks!

Recycled?
Revisado: 02-06-22
This was not the Kristin Hannah of The Nightingale or the Four Winds. It read like someone’s debut novel from the early nineties. The writing was insipid and predictable. An age old tale with nothing new brought to the table. I hate to write harsh reviews, but I bought into the name and was disappointed.

A Touching, Treacherous Read
Revisado: 12-17-21
A riveting, touchingly penned memoir which makes you want to go for a walk or have coffee with Ericka Schickel, both to make sure she’s okay and to maybe hear her read the menu because she makes everything interesting. As I listened to stories of her girlhood, I couldn’t help harkening back to my adolescent self, acutely remembering the vulnerability, the dance of navigating the predators that so many of us did as a matter of course.

Far Beyond a Rom Com
Revisado: 09-20-21
At first glance this seemed like a fun, beach listen, but so often as I listened I was struck by how well written and crafted this story was. The narration was perfection—you really believe you’re listening to a real life couple share their tale. There are a multitude of good living take always embedded in the novel, without it being in any way preachy. I was impressed!
