The narrator made it so much worse

This is overall, a very very boring story. The characters are all shallow and forgettable. I really can’t believe I finished the whole set but then again…I already wasted my credit on it smh
However, the more unbearable part was this narrator!! It’s like she needed to pause after every line or something and her accent was just bad. I’m glad I’m done with her and this series!

I really wanted to like the story I picked it up I put it down. I picked it up. I put it down and I tried to finish it but I’m clearly not in my damsel in distress era. Overall, it was slow and kind of boring. The characters were nothing special, there was nothing that really made me care enough to like any of them. FMC was not bad ass in any stretch of the imagination. She was like a passenger in her own story. Like a pawn being moved across the chess board by the men in her life and I hate that. I couldn’t finish this because I don’t have hope that in the next book or the book after that she’ll rise up and be some kind of warrior queen or something haha It’s a no for me but I can see the appeal of this book for others.

I hated how he read this book. I understand he’s been the voice of the previous books, I loved the way he did past books. This one however, was awful. I’m hopeful that the rest of the series will be different.

This was the worst waste of a credit ever!!!!

While I enjoyed this version of audio book, it reminded me of the way the older Anita Blake books sounded. The background sounds and music always made me feel like I was listening to a play!!

And that is all I enjoyed about this book. What a stupid story! Myra is a complete and selfish Bit$h ugh and bathin is just too good for her. I hated everything about her character, honestly this book may be the final nail in the coffin for me as far as this series goes and that really is horrible given that I love d Devon Monks previous book series. I’ve tried and tried with this series but I think it’s going to my dnf shelf. The reed sister are just not redeemable in my opinion. The side characters are all actually pretty good but how can I enjoy a book when I hate the main characters ugh! Frustrating. Don’t waste your time on this series.
