Historia
As a teenager, Mallory O’Meara was thrilled to discover that one of her favorite movies, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, featured a monster designed by a woman, Milicent Patrick. But for someone who should have been hailed as a pioneer in the genre, there was little information available. For, as O’Meara soon discovered, Patrick’s contribution had been claimed by a jealous male colleague, her career had been cut short, and she soon after had disappeared from film history. No one even knew if she was still alive.

haters gonna hate

I let the negative reviews push this book down my list. The why's of Millicent's hidden life and why it was important to uncover is important to her story. The author's point of view is a shared point of view. I grew up with monster movies and thought this book insightful and inspiring.

Historia
Pittsburgh has recently (and more than once) been called the most livable city in America; yet the old image of smoky skies and steel mills spewing forth grit has never quite disappeared. Its history as a dirty industrial center is a part of its residents, a part of their toughness. The people of the steel city fight.

Overall good
Revisado: 11-28-18
The quality varies widely, but it's mostly good. The stories and vocals usually match well, but there's some real stinkers.

Historia
While the major fighting of the war moves to the south in the summer of 1779, a British force of fewer than a thousand Scottish infantry, backed by three sloops-of-war, sails to the desolate and fog-bound coast of New England. Establishing a garrison and naval base at Penobscot Bay, in the eastern province of Massachusetts that would become Maine, the Scots - the only British troops between Canada and New York - harry rebel privateers and give shelter to American loyalists....

Tedious
Revisado: 11-28-17
An experienced professional army successfully defends a half built fort against a volunteer army. Now you don't have to waste your time or money here.
The reader has 3 voices; heroic, naive, and Scottish.
