Chernow can't keep his personal feelings out

While Chernow did a fantastic job researching Rockefeller's life, he obviously did not intend to give us an unbiased view. I loved learning about Rockefeller, but I really don't care what Chernow thinks about him. Nevertheless, I was constantly subjected to Chernow's interpretation of Rockefeller's thoughts and feelings. He would explain something Rockefeller did or said and then go on to tell me what that meant about Rockefeller's psyche, motivations, and beliefs. This is a boundary no biographer should cross. Chernow crosses it frequently.
