Cute Story, Disappointing Narration for Neville

The story itself is cute, lighthearted, and enjoyable, with charming characters and a fun plot. However, the narration was disappointing, particularly with how Neville’s voice was handled. The portrayal did not fit his character at all and detracted significantly from the listening experience. It was difficult to stay immersed whenever Neville spoke. Otherwise, the overall performance was decent, and the story was entertaining.

Gregg Hurwitz delivers another gripping installment in the Orphan X series with Nemesis, a novel that I couldn’t put down—literally finishing it within 24 hours. The pacing is relentless, the stakes feel higher than ever, and the tension keeps you on edge until the very end.

What makes Nemesis particularly compelling is the way it challenges Evan Smoak not just physically but morally. There were moments where I genuinely worried that this would be the mission that pushed him past the point of no return. Without giving anything away, Hurwitz masterfully builds suspense around Evan’s final choice, and when the moment arrives, it’s both satisfying and true to the character we’ve followed through this series.

Beyond the action and intrigue, Nemesis also serves as a touching tribute. The real-life inspiration behind a certain character has passed, and Hurwitz honors that legacy in a way that feels meaningful and fitting. It adds an emotional weight to the story, making this more than just another high-octane thriller.

With sharp writing, heart-pounding action, and emotional depth, Nemesis is a standout in an already stellar series. Fans of Orphan X will not be disappointed.

Good, but not Great🤷🏾‍♀️

I'm glad that the history lesson at the end of each chapter stopped. The story was quite intricate and bounced around between different timelines too much, making it difficult to follow at times. Although I found it to be a good listen overall, I did find myself drifting off during certain parts of the book without missing any important plot points. Perhaps these were the parts that didn't contribute much to the story. Regardless, I think this marks the end of the Cotton series and that the author will now focus on the character of Luke.

Why did audible hire Dracula for narration🤦🏾‍♀️

I really like Larsen's books, but this narrator reads like a news anchor. Worst, the "accents" are done in a Dracula type voice. SERIOUSLY - Dracula. I spent most of my time trying to enjoy the story and cringing at his reading. I will avoid all books with him reading and hope they get another reader for Slaton.

Welcome Back Steve Berry!!!

This is more like it! this book was thought provoking and written in the style to which I am accustomed to reading in Steve Berry's books. I am so glad we moved beyond that constant interruption stuff in previous books.

For the Trump supporters who keep writing negative comments, get a grip, every book isn't about you or your beliefs 🤫. If you don't like something, don't read it. It's foolish to think everything is about you.
